CR1 POE EAD Stamp

Hi Everyone!

I have seen a couple of threads related to the K1 visa and JFK being the only POE (the acronym usage on VJ is worse than in Microsoft!). Is that true for CR1 visas as well? Since it can take a month or so to get the actual Green Card, and my husband is applying for transfer positions in Microsoft, we want to make sure he has the proper stamps right away. We are planning on flying directly to Detroit, but if necessary, we will do a pit stop in JFK... Anyone been through this?

Thanks!

CR1 visa holders dont need a EAD Stamp..... he will get a I-551 stamp in his passport which is a temp greencard to allows for work and international travel..... he will just have to get his SSN, if he tick on the form for a SSN he can either wait for it to arrive or he can go to the local SSA office and apply in person for one....

Thanks Kezzie for the information - we would rather not go through JFK if we don't have to! :)
