Beads and pearls

my fiancée will be bringing pearls and bead work and other accouterments to the united states....in her checked luggage. it is her hobby, should this present any kind of a problem with immigration? they are all loose, not strung together yet, and eventually she hopes to sell some and give others as gifts...the total value of the beading kit and the pearls/beads is around 300 dollars US....anyone foresee a problem getting through customs with these items?

i think as long as she declares that she has them and the purpose, it shouldnt be a problem....but i cant be sure. anyone know? i dont know where the line between importing for sale and a hobby crosses.... do you?

cool, thanks...although i see nothing about pearls or beads...so i will assume that its ok to bring them...and probably declare them.

I don't see a problem either. You would have to declare them. There shouldn't be duty tax on them. I believe it's anything over $800 when they lay the Tax on you. Your good to go...
