Ok, this thread is crazy.

If your Muslim, then you will know basically the gist of what this post means. You will most likely understand and be able to read between the lines to get to the crusp of what it all boils down to.

If your not muslim, does this all really matter to you anyway???

This post CLEARLY stated that it was GEARED towards muslims.

Hellooooo.

Peace

I'm not a Muslim....but I get the point. You don't need to take the list literally, but it can give you some ideas about how to make your guy happy. Why not let him think that he's the master of the house? You know better who the real master is, don't you? :) . I guess the main point is: make him feel like a man, not like a damp cloth.

BTW, a damp cloth is not sexy, at all... B)

BTW is it true that Islam allows men to hit women as long as they don't leave scars? I've read that the recommended way of disciplining your wife is to cane her on the fingers. It hurts but doesn't leave a scar. Voila!

Personally, I prefer to get my canings on my behind. That way when I sit down I can remember what I did and not do it again.

Hello

First of all, this post HAS been taken out of context. There IS another post that says, 60 ways to keep your wive's love. Anyways, in this society the one thing women fear the most is having to answer to anyone, especially a husband or any male figure. I was raised here, went to elementarty school, highschool, college, everything here and I am very westernized myself, but the thing is I am able to read between the line for these type of things.

It sounds SO BAD when women hear the word "permission," yet if the post said, "Let you husband know where you go so he doesn't get worried," it would be totally fine and no one would care. We wanna know where our husbands go too don't we? Its a normal thing we wanna know. What about non-muslim guys who make their wives carry a cellphone and call them wherever they are to "check-up" there are very controlling men out here in America and everywhere and its pretty much they act like women have to ask for permission, actually the truth is we all know that this thread means

but its so muhc fun to point out some outdated language, some things that seem a bit "degrading" like thanking a guy for everything (which is not practical these days because we provide for ourselves, if God keeps us in good health we can have a career and do our own taking care) but the sense it is being used is, after a few years of marriage, people forget the word "thank you" because we know they'll do it anyway, or be there tomorrow morning. its called "taking things for granted" now if the post said "dont take things for granted" everyone would be all yaaa your right hm hm yap...etc etc, but now that its specifically says "thank husband for bla blah" its such a sin. Many of the things on the list, we do them without knowing "Honey im going out" is not asking permission its just saying and its funny they are usually not home anyway at work....i dont see the huge fuss, dont take it all literally. Innately we do many of these things on the list to different degrees without really literally doing them, such as taking interest in what he likes to eat (i dont cook, im saying because h shows love for me, i may begin to care for what he likes, etc) Honestly if both sides did onlye 2 or three of these things then we could eliminate a lot of these problems, BOTH lists, not just thr women doing everything like slaves and the guys just enjoying being mothers or pampered, I mean both sides, both lists. Like if you stay quiet during a fight, you could eliminate a lotta bad ####### you might say in a bad mood, (which you may regret later, and that happens) and when hes done blowing his head off you can start YOUR yelling lol. no really, i have a bad temper and i tried this and it worked, i got a lot more accross to a calm man than a steaming one, its all reading for the essense of the messages. Lets not attack these things, believe me it was hard for me to embrace marraige even because I am so independent and self-suffiant, but I look at the real message that is being sent here on both posts, that is:

Just because you are married now, don't stop doing the things you did to show your love (both sides)

Don't take the things your spouse does for granted, so they can see you remember their work, that they have motivation to do more

Finally, our spouse are our main people in our life, we should give them our high priority at least

I do many things in my home, Laundry, cooking, some cleaning and general maintanence.... I do it because I choose to do it.... not because its expected of me as a wife.....

As for asking my husbands permission to go out of my house.... F**k no... if I want to go out then it up to me when I and where I go...

There is no man on this planet that would be making any of those demands on me.... I am a partner in the relationship not a owned object or a slave....

If this is what Muslim men expect from a wife then I am sure glad I am not one of them.... I cant understand why any woman would even contemplate living that sort of life....

Kez

EXACTLY, Kez!!!!! Get a life women!!!!

Whatever happened to.... "When in America, live like Americans do!!!!"

My husband and I can both take care of ourselves.... we share all the household duties and treat each other with respect and love.

I find that list ridiculous AND offensive!!!

Very well said...thank you for your post. I'm betting though it will still just continue to provide something for people to poke fun.

Did anyone consider that this wasn't written in English, therefore doesn't translate well.

I can't help but notice how similar this list is to several posts made by certain VJ males (American) "explaining" why they actively sought wives from South America and Asia.

(I bet LisaD would remember that thread -- it was *classic*)
