Ok, this thread is crazy.

If your Muslim, then you will know basically the gist of what this post means. You will most likely understand and be able to read between the lines to get to the crusp of what it all boils down to.

If your not muslim, does this all really matter to you anyway???

This post CLEARLY stated that it was GEARED towards muslims.

Hellooooo.

Peace

Leedah hun - my reaction hasn't anything to do with islam. Or an aversion to it. Or anything remotely connected to any religion.

If you're gonna get offended or try to make something out of this kind of list that isn't there - well IMO you're upsetting yourself over nothing.

Like Stina said, it reminds of the 'Good Wife' ad - which I saw loooooooooooooooooong ago.

I'm about as traditional as you can get when it comes to homemaking and taking care of my man. But some of that stuff on your 'list' - sorry it's just bogus. Especially when his list of '60 things' only mentions chores once and in a general way. And the behaviors on the man's list are general - they aren't specific things like 'make sure your face is fixed'.

I'm gonna wash my mans clothes (but not press 'em); fix him a hot meal (most days); keep OUR house clean and WALK OUT OF IT if I damn well feel like it; and I'm gonna love him in bed till he sees stars.

I don't need some silly list to help me out.

Oh - no matter who wrote the list - animal, mineral, vegetable, muslim, anglican, catholic, buddhist - or whomever.

Show up naked when I get home with a 6 pack of beer once in awhile and I'll be pretty happy.

I remember being at a party one time - a bunch of married couples. One of the husbands was going on and on about how he keeps telling his wife there are only TWO things she needed to do to keep him happy - 'feed me and f*** me' he said.

His wife slapped him on the arm. Everybody else cracked up.

Amber, why do you insist on making it a point to decipher something that wasn't even created by me anyway??

I didn't write these, I simply copy and pasted. Take it up with the original author.

And yes, you ARE out of line!

How can you say my husband seems like he is "on his menses" just because he does for me. Don't Hate.

#######? I wasn't referring to your husband I was referring to the man in the photo because the woman is feeding him grapes. don't jump to conclusions that just aren't there

also if geared towards muslims you should post in mena. you titled the thread "60 Ways to Keep Your Husbands Love, Geared towards Muslim Women, but can be good for any woman." so you changed your mind when we didn't agree with you? you're the one who said it can be good for ANY woman not just muslim

Few posters in the MENA forum are Muslim and those of us who are do get out once in a while. :)

I remember hearing this old lady say once: 'It's very easy to keep your husband happy. Just make sure his stomach is full and his b#lls are empty.'

:P:lol::devil:

I don't think the 'not leaving the house without his permission' is so bad but I'm not reading it as giving him permission to run your life, just he wants to know in general where you are and when to expect you home so he won't worry - I expect the same consideration from my husband. Crazy things, accidents, etc. happen all the time so yes I do always want to know in general where he is and wouldn't be offended if he expected the same from me - it shows he cares...

I may be crazy but I actually like ironing - I usually do it on Sunday nights while watching 60 Minutes, a weekly ritual.

some of them are a bit overboard. it's not that I don't get it I don't think it's a woman's duty to thank her husband for providing her a place to live or to always make dinner or always do the laundry

also

38. Do not leave the house without his permission and certainly not without his knowledge.

39. Make sure all his clothes are clean and pressed so he is always looking fresh and crisp.

if he wants his clothes ironed he can do it! also why can't you leave the house without his permission? that's crazy

I iron all my husband's clothes...and no I'm not Muslim.....What's wrong with that???????

I also tell my husband when I'm going out, even if he's at work I'll ring him and say I'm going here or there....

Naturalization

Well, there's a difference between doing something and being expected to do something.

I see nothing wrong with doing the ironing; I often did it for my brothers/dad/mother while I was growing up, but they usually asked first and thanked me afterwards.

I usually inform Alex as to what I plan to do that day out of courtesy, even though we are 6,000 miles apart, and he appreciates this but does not expect it. If I spontaneously decide to call in on a friend and forget to tell him he doesn't mind. Also, when we live together I won't expect to have to always tell him that I am, for example, popping out to the shops for five minutes to buy food or to post a letter.

I actually agree with the vast majority of the items on this list and there are a couple I probably need to pay more attention to.

Luz isn't Muslim but she does all these things out of love for me. In return I treat her like the special gift she is. It works out great for both of us. Since she just started her new job today I will be taking over some of the domestic duties even though I know she will give me sh!t about it and say it's her job. But I feel that if she is working then it's only fair I take on some of the the home duties also.

Amber, your outta line.

 you're nuts! I'm not outta line! I see others share my opinion on this.

Leedah,

Don't worry about all these folks who are so nearsighted that can only think about this list literally, rather than getting the point that it is a means to describe the BIG PICTURE of taking care of your life's partner (both ways).

You keep on keeping on! The world needs more ofthis kind of sentiment: Wife to Husband and Husband to Wife, both!

Warm Regards,

Samby
