I think this might be helpful to everyone here.

When I filled out the paperwork to get my CR-1 visa, I checked the box that said assign me a SS# automatically.

Well, after being here for almost 3 weeks, I wondered when I would get this number as I need it to look for a job, take my driving test and open a bank account. So, I went to the Social Security office in my town and it took 10 mins total to do all the paperwork. I just needed my passport with my visa in it. I am going to get my SS# tomorrow and my card in 2 weeks. That was it.

And the guy said they never give SS# without people showing up in person.

2012-09-19 : Biometric Appointment and Fingerprint

2012-10-15 : Receive Naturalization Interview Date

2012-11-19 : Naturalization Interview Completed

2013-01-14 : Oath Letter received

2013-01-16 : Oath Ceremony / Become US Citizen
