Case Status Online

Today we got our I-485 NOA1. I tried to check the status online but when i put the receipt number a message tells me that the petition doesn't exist. Is it because the AOS is processed at a local office and not at a service center? This thing is starting to worry us and we already have a lot to worry about!

Maria, the same thing is happening with us. We got our NOA1's yesterday, and still cannot log-in to the USCIS website. I'm gonna keep trying, lol.

That's a great news! Congrats on your NOA1! USCIS website seems not working, mine never been updated. The date still on Jan. 24, 2006 and I already had my biometrics and fingerprinting last March 10, 2006. Well, I guess we all just wait something that come up in our postal mails .

We had the same problems last year as you have now. What we did is:

Call USCIS hotline to ask for the status of ours. Once the 1st Op talked to us and found out there was no info about our case, they transferred our call to another person who seemed like a supervisor (but we waited 30 minutes to talk to that person). Then that person checked again and told us they were processing our case just the status online hadn't been updated.

The following days after this call we checked on line again. We saw the info was right there! I guess you have to call so that they could realize to 'activate' your case status online...

it took me 3 weeks to be able to add my son´s AOS, eventually you will be able to add it, it is ok

wow that's crazy. I have never had any problem with anything. Maybe their web site is pretty messed up. it has been giving a lot of problems lately. I hope they will fix them very soon.

I got some good/bad news about my case. We called the Representative this morning and she said she had alreday sent an email to the Missouri Service Center about my I-485, see if they can help about my mom's situation. The only problem is that she said she sent it yesterday morning and they haven't replied to her yet! I mean come one! How many people has the email adress: @house.gov. NOBODY! She also wrote an email to csc-xii485@dhs.gov and she got a reply after an hour! Of course "normal people" such as me and whoever have to wait 2-3 days, but a representative's case worker doesn't have to. They said its not their case and they probably gave her the MSC email. The only thing that is strange to me is that the csc email address answered after an hour and the MSC hasn't done it yet. What the heck???? It is strange to me that, being a representative, she hasn't got anything back yet. That's very weird. I hope she is not lying as I think. Damn I am dying right here. I keep going back and fort the room. Kitchen, computer computer kitchen. I should have got a senator's help. That would have been then times better.

At best the online status info is erratic - our case wasn't on there for 2 or 3 weeks and then the status didn't change from the initial message till we received the approval email! So, it was pretty useless from my perspective. good Luck
