Just wanted to find out where the South Africans are living in the US? I see some of you posting on here, and just wanted to say hi :thumbs:

I am new to the forum, I live in San Francisco, with my American husband.

Just wanted to know how you guys met? How has the Saffer adjusted to life in the US?

Hi there, I'm not in the US yet but will be in Riverside, California (San Jacinto). My husband and I met online, and things progressed from there. God willing and all goes well, I'll be over there pretty soon - case already at US Consulate in Jo'burg

I am the USC but I met my South African beauty while working for Carnival Cruise Lines. Our case is at the embassy and she has recieved packet 3, but ran into a problem getting her German police clearance :angry: If all goes well she will be joining me here in Detroit, Michigan on June 6th. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in SA now with my fiance Eben. We met when I was visiting some friends last April in Nelspruit. I've been here since October. Yes, it's really hot in Nelspruit!

I am waiting for hte police clearance cert and then will be faxing the checklist back to the Joburg embassy. Now that I've read that there are problems with scheduling I am thinking of faxing the checklist back early. Any ideas about if that's acceptable?

4/13/07 Met in South Africa

7/15/07 -8/8/07 I visited since he couldn't get a visitor visa

9/11/07 Sent in I-129F application

10/4/07 received receipt

10/14/2007 left for South Africa to wait for the paperwork until April

12/19/2007 applied for unabridged birth certificate

2/19/08 received approval

3/25/08 received NOA packet 3!

3/27/08 REapplied for unabridged birth certificate

3/27/08 Applied for police Certification

4/7/08 Medical exam

4/8/08 Finally received Birth certificate. queued at Home Affairs for 4 hours.

4/10/08 Faxed Packet 3 Checklist to Consulate

4/23/08 Arrived back in the US to get ready for Eben

4/29/08 Interview! Visa approved!
