Hi- does my hubby need to have his SSN before we can submit his AOS papers??

Sept 26- mailed I129F from the UK

Oct 04- NSC receives Petition

Oct 7- Check cashed, we're in the system!

Oct 12- NOA1 receivedl

Oct 21- NOA2 RECEIVED! (email)!! yeah baby, yeah!!!!

Oct 25 NSC ships application to NVC...really rolling now...

Nov 4- NVC ships case to Dublin!!

Nov. 24- Packet 3 received

Dec. 8- Packet 3 materials mailed to Embassy

Dec. 13- Medical in Cork

January 27, 2006- The Interview- SUCCESS!

Feb. 7- He arrived in America- welcome home sweetie!!

Feb. 8- legally married at the Indianapolis clerk's office

Feb. 25- Mailed AOS, EAD, and AP to Chicago lockbox (packet weighed 2.6 pounds!), rec'd Feb. 27

Mar. 6- Received NOAs for I485 and I765, rejection for I131 (incorrect payment). I485 has wrong A#.

Mar. 7- Resubmitted I131

Mar. 14- NOA for I131

April 1, 2006- our Wedding with family and friends in Michigan!!

April 14- Biometrics appointment in Indianapolis

April 25- received Advance Parole

June 19- AOS interview, Indianapolis--APPROVED

June 30- GREEN CARD ARRIVES!!!

I don't think so...

I dont think they would issue SSN to him unless he has a documents which allows him to work like EAD.

Mar-07-2005 ~ Interview Notice for October 6th 2005 in Garden City, NY

Oct-06-2005 ~ Interview: Background checks not completed

Jan-09-2006 ~ What a coincident ;) E-filled For EAD and AP renewal

Jan-25-2006 ~ right index finger fingerprinted and photo taken

Sept-15-2006 ~ AP renewal approved 247 days

Sept-21-2006 ~ EAD renewal approved 253 days

Sept-30-2006 ~ 2nd Biometrics appointment

June-18-2007 ~ E-filed yet another Work Permit and AP renewal :(

After 2 years, 6 moths and one day I have received this email:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

He does not need an SSN to submit his AOS. If he doesn't have it by the time he wants to submit the AOS paper work just write NONE on any form that requests an SSN.

Has he applied for his SSN? If not why not?

I dont think they would issue SSN to him unless he has a documents which allows him to work like EAD.

Wrong. If he has K-1 status and hasn't been in the U.S. 76 days, he can apply using his I-94 showing current K-1 status. After 76 days he will need an EAD card or wait until AOS is approved and he is issued an I-551 stamp or card.

Thank you. He is immigrating on Tuesday, and we are getting our marriage license on Wednesday. Obviously it will take a couple weeks before he gets his SSN, I just wanted to be sure we could file his AOS without it (the on-line fillable form won't let me enter "none").

nope.. i dont have one, and so far so good.. now i cant even get one! (i waited too long..) I do suggest getting him one while he can.. makes tax time next year easier!
