I just got off the phone with USCIS and they said that it would be another 9-10 months due to the "backlog". That backlog in my opinion has been taken care of, if most people before July have been taken care of then in all logic there is no backlog that would cause 9-10 more months , granted some people are beyond the 6 month time limit but its not like there are millions of people that are beyond that. Their own website says Aug 19th so I dont understand. Oh and they said they are still on August 19th at vermont, I asked why they have been on Aug 19th after almost a month and a half and again "backlog". I only wanted to know about how far they were because as we all know spending $4,000.00 for a week to see our loved ones really does hurt the wallet and if they were some what near november filers i would have just waited to go visit my wife. It will be 6 months in June since i have seen my wife so I was planning a trip there. Knowing that i will have a ton of stuff to pay for once we are approved i really wanted to hold on to some of that money. Between phone bills , plane tickets, hotels , etc in 8 months I have spent near $16,000. I just cant keep doing it. I might be the only one here who has these types of problems but not being able to really plan or know what would be the best thing to do when trying to do plan your life is getting way beyond frustrating.

thanks for the info... ya i totaly understand it does get pricey, plane tickets to another country are not cheap, and phone cards/ phone bills do add up but still we cant stop communicating with our spouses cuz we miss them so muchhh.... its the least we can do now that we wait.... so VERMONT is still at aug? i gues we should all hear somethin within in a month or so.. i hope they catch up... i dont believe the 9/10 more month deal.. that is jus insanee.. they are prob sayin that so we dont bug them... thats why they prob didnt change the processing times..i would like to plan another trip to india but i am waitin on an approval.. or somethin so i know when i can expect to have my spouse come join me inthe US... the anxiety adds upp....

I hear what you are saying bro. I just got off the phone with USCIS as well and I did not get any kind of prediction regarding how long it would take. Whoever it is that we really get to speak with, they really have no clue as to what is going on in the adjudicating room or whatever they call it. I see you filed in November and I know it seems like f***ing forever, I filed in September, so I know exactly what you are talking about on all points. I myself just got back from flying over to Spain to visit my wife.....the Euro/USD exchange sucks ### big time. so I ended up spending a tidy sum on that trip. Nothing we can really do....myself I can gonna take a valium this evening and chase it with a couple of cold ones and hope that in the morning maybe some good news.

First thing that I found out is that the USCIS gives generic answers. They tell you the same thing every time. Count on your case getting looked at right around the 6 month mark. Thats May for you. The web page at USCIS gets updated fast so you will know within a day once its been worked on.

You can expect about 5 to 6 months after they approve the case. It will take about a month and a half once they approve it and send it to the NVC. Then everything else takes about 3 to 4 months to process. Its slow going. You might be able to get everything done in 6 weeks, but the wait from USCIS to NVC is guaranteed and the dates for interviews close out fast for the next month.

Dont know what you do for work, but you might want to swing an extended vacation and go visit, maybe stay with family if possible to cut expenses.

the first 6 to 8 months are the worst, after that you start getting use to it.

Don't believe everything uscis says!!!!!!!! they're pretty much screwed up and most of the times don't have an idea of what's really going on.

Just wait and see,you may be surprised and get aproved anytime soon, just keep the faith and don't loose hope.

I undestand the financial burden that this process creates and trust me it's not pretty,we all have to endure this financial situation at one point of another but it's all woth it at the end!!!

Good Luck

God bless

I wouldn't give much importance to what they said to u today, everything that they are doing proves otherwise. Take a look at this approval from today. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1692089

They are given scripts to relate to us petitioners.. all very generic and the processing times..is a joke.. if u look at CSC it says they are still in july petitions.. when we see Oct and some Nov being approved. Hang in there, i think we are next in this round of approvals.

I have not seen my husband in 1 YEAR!!!!

We started the immigration process in December 2006. We did the interview, completed AP and now waiting for Embassy staff to decide on my husbands CV. CV??? That's right! A CV was requested by the Embassy staff AFTER the Administrative Processing was approved/finished.

The CV is nothing more than regurgitated information that has already been provided on the G-325A and the DS-230. The only difference is we had to give personal references to call and list his hobbies.

Be aware...there are a lot of folks out there that have waited very long times (longer than you and me).

This whole process is a bunch of horsesh!t. I'm a taxpaying American with no criminal history married to a virtual saint from one of our staunchest allies, and there's no reason the damn government should be able to take a year of life of our marriage to twiddle their thumbs while they #### around with us (and every other couple involved) in this ####### process. They made a man walk on the moon four decades ago, there's no reason in hell they can't establish that my wife and I aren't up to any monkey business in less than a couple of months.

I'm just shy of 50 days since my NOA1 at VSC, so I don't have much to crow about yet, but if I get 3 or 4 more moons with nothing, I'm gonna get on my congressman about it. Hell, I might even pro-actively shoot him a donation.

Go listen to some free beats:

I agree with all said above. My husband and I have spent over a year and half living in two different countries already. By the time we get a visa it will be two years of separation, so two out of three years of marriage we have spent apart. He visited me twice over the summer and winter breakes (he is a student) each time paying two grand for a ticket. He is coming for a whole summer again. I have to say if we didn't have an opportunity to spend accumaletevily four months together in the past year and a half I would go nuts. My best wishes to VMT filers! (F)

just hang in there don't lose your hope. my wife and i been separate for two years.

look at your time line you will get a response somewhere in may-june.

if you have no (rfe- request further evidence) and yes don't believe what uscis talking about.

another thing save your money up if u miss your spouse visit her 1 a year till visa get approve, i understand everyone miss there love one. but that is no way to waste on ticket when u could save it. phone call you can use phonecard. i find some really cheap. i be able to call my wife every week only cost like 2cent a minute.

just don't let your hope down.

PS go to uscis web register and get email comfirm when your case is touch on.

Yes it's true that USCIS gives generic answers but I haven't seen anything moving on I-130s at VSC in a long time. They are moving right through the I-129fs, and I wish I had gone the K-3 route now. My husband needs to be able to travel for his work so we didn't want to take the chance of doing K-3 and having him stuck here unable to work or travel for months...but now wishing that we had done that.

If I have to wait 6 months just at VSC, I'll probably finish my degree, pack up and move there. This is insane and without any productive leadership I don't have any hope or faith at all in USCIS. There should be a federal investigation.

Just trying to muster the energy (and the money) to do this again.
