I just got off the phone with DOS today........on week 7.

She said we are in Administrative Processing and it's up to the officer when they want to issue the visa.

She said it looks good and hopefully it won't be too much longer.

:crying:

I was curious if any of the ones that have gotten their visas, was the fiance Christian?

Since I read that many of the terrorist activities have been done by men with Islamic beliefs, I wonder if they look harder and take

more time with a Muslim fiance................there probably isn't any rhyme or reason to the whole process, but I thought it was a good question.

If you love me, then I have everything I need

I think that some extra scrutiny is given to middle-eastern applicants for national security reasons - although I can't point to anything specific. But there is also the fact that there is a lot more commonality in names in arab countries, so there may be more "hits" on the name check that need to be investigated and cleared. I have not read anything that states that they delay muslims vs. non muslim, I think it is geared more towards birth country. If there are any copts who have come over you might be able to shed light on this question.

And So It Begins......

Iam so sorry for this frustration, Lynn. I really do not want to point to religion as a factor, but rather the Embassy itself. Cairo is slow and no you cannot figure them out. Persevere and pray, battle the ' higher ups' if need be. Just know that your day will come and God only knows when. Trust Him. My daily prayers always include you and Ahmed.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

“Love is patient; love is kind

and envies no one.

Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;

never selfish, not quick to take offense.

There is nothing love cannot face;

there is no limit to its faith,

its hope, and endurance.

In a word, there are three things

that last forever: faith, hope, and love;

but the greatest of them all is love.”

Well Lynn I have noticed that some with common names got their visa within only a few days. For example Melinda and Mohamed. Mohamed is very common arabic name and theirs went very quickly. There is no rhyme or reason to Cairo visa process. Hope visa comes soon for you.

Cheryl
