Yes this is really something to monitor in the next weeks/months. Because if this is true, then frankly I don't think the Vermont Center can keep up this practice. There would be no reason whatsoever to justify different treatment of identical applications by two centers belonging to the same administration ...

There was a post on another forum from a girl whose I-130 had been approved where she wrote that she had received a letter(or her congressman) saying that VSC terminated I-129F since I-130 was approved. That doesn't give us much hope, does it?But with this on-line payments I think that NVC is moving much faster. So even if get approved for I-130 only, I don't think we will have to wait so long.I guess I'm trying to stay positive no matter what.I've read James shortcuts over and over again but I still have trouble understanding them completely.I mean I have to understand them first in order to explain it to my husband who will be doing all that when the time comes.

The best of luck to all who are waiting for K3!

Hey Jeca. Hmm, yes if this is true, then there is still different treatment since California seems to be approving both of them at the same time and folks can continue on K-3 visa path.

But maybe you're right and even if only I-130 will be moving forward, it isn't so bad considering progress at NVC.

I've also started reading the short cuts (a few times) in order to be prepared, just in case we have to follow that path too.

:star: Have a great day regardless of all this visa malarky (new word I learned from Sarah!)

I really hope the K3 is alive at VSC.

I received 2 touches in the last 2 days on my I130 but not on the I129F, which makes me a bit concerned.

I really don't want to wait any longer by going the K1 route. I don't care about AOS on K3. I just want my wife.

I hope some good news is on the way.

I'm sure that VSC will catch up soon, as other posters on the forum have mentioned.

If you have stepchildren involved, I don't see how they can cancel the K-3/I-129f. It seems like they are approving some I-130s/K-1s already. The K-3 looks like it is about 1 month behind the K-1 according to the timelines posted on VJ. I had touches on 3/25 and 3/26 but nothing since. I'm not sure what they were doing then and not sure how to find out.

Don't think that any of you would be in any better situation right now if you were in CSC

Although CSC seems to be processing faster, it also receives a lot more applications than CSC.

By the dates on your timelines, none of you would have already been approved if you were in CSC

CSC is processing september applications.

Calm down, breathe :)

There is still a lot of wait. Just try not to think about it.

I guess they're cancelling the I-129F's (K3) when the I-130 is approved as it was originally developed to bring your Wife/Husband over while waiting for the CR1/IR1 number to come up .... so technically once your I-130 is approved, there is no need for the K3 visa. I have no idea what CSC is up to, and wouldn't be surpised if they follow suit.

NVC is also so much quicker now, therefore also giving reason to not needing the K3. I know an extra few weeks seems like a lifetime away from our Honey's, but once it's all done and dusted, there will also be no more dealings with USCIS for a while .... thank God!!!

Can you imagine having to deal with Adjustment of Status on top of all this ???

And anyone that's having issues with the James' shortcuts, don't worry, the barcode sheets are now printable straight off the DOS website when your bill is paid, which is now also available online.

All you have to do is make sure you've got your paperwork all ready to 'rock and roll' .... I would suggest you all get that together, to stop the panic when you're approved.

I've put together a list of stuff to concentrate on and here's the thread

dont forget that CR1 processing at the consulates takes longer than K3, and in some countries the difference can be of as much as 5 months

CSC is almost a third of the way through the January filers already .... I've checked the thread and timelines .... they are infact banging the approvals out. The January filers in this thread from VSC could look at being approved probably within the next couple of weeks if we'd been been at CSC.

I guess they're cancelling the I-129F's (K3) when the I-130 is approved as it was originally developed to bring your Wife/Husband over while waiting for the CR1/IR1 number to come up .... so technically once your I-130 is approved, there is no need for the K3 visa. We at VSC are aware of the fact that CSC has been putting the I-130 and I-129F together and are confused as to why VSC have been cancelling the K3 .... that's why I researched the visa, and as I said it was developed for the spouse to come to the US while waiting for the CR1/IR1 number to come up ..... so I guess VSC are technically reading that as the K3 application becomes defunct when the I-130 is approved.

As far the CR1 processing taking longer at the consulates, I guess VSC doesn't give a flying ####### about that
