At the suggestion of one of the members of VJ, I contacted the VSC to ask about my application. Using the "RFE trick", I asked about my application status. The ImmOff told me that it was still pending. When I asked her if she could tell me what division my application was currently in, she stated that she could not because she did not have access. She immediately hung up before I could mention to her that I have received my NOA1 on 12/31/07 but I have yet to receive my NOA2 despite the fact the people who have filed as late as the beginning of March have already been approved! I've checked other case numbers online and it seems that there are at least three other applications filed with the same NOA1 date as mine that are still pending. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do at this point? Thanks.

I wouldnt do anything as yet. Some of us are still waiting, and they'll get to us all eventually. It's hard when you see early approvals - trust me I know!!.....but you will see something soon. Breathe deep and try to avoid calling VSC, it wont make it go any faster.

You got hung up on because you called a number you weren't supposed to. The phone number is for people who get an RFE.

What else should you do?

Wait patiently. Hardly any cases are denied at this stage of the process if the file is properly documented.

Im sorry that I can't give you any advice on what to do except wait. It took us 88 days

before we got the NOA2 while others got theirs at less than 2 months plus the fact that

they filed behind us!

I feel for you and your SO. My fiance and I tried to surmise how VSC works but we didnt come up with any possible answer on how they work on each petition submitted to them

I know it is really frustrating to wait. I just hope that you get your approval soon

As hard as it is to see people being approved befpore you, you are not outside the normal processing times and they cannot/will not do anything until you are overdue.

My advice...sit back and relax...this process is about patience.

That's why I don't even log on and check anymore. It just adds more stress to the process. I'll tell you one thing, patience is KEY in the immigration process. It doesn't matter what you're filling. Patience and PRAYER is key. Keep the faith babes.

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I don't mind being patient. The problem I have is with the lack of fairness. If everyone was made to wait because it was a long process for everyone, I think it would be much easier for me to accept. However, it only seems to be a long process for some and not for others. Even that could be dealt with if a reason was provided by the USCIS. The only thing an applicant can do is wait since very little information is provided to where exactly an application stands.

Tanffy,

I'm not really sure that the calling helped at all. When I checked my application status online just prior to getting my approval, it stated that my file was last updated on 2/17/08. Maybe your approval is coming soon as well.

Well if Vermont has "processing issues" then california must have "processing catastrophes", you know if we're really talking about the lack of fairness.

Congrats an all that but sorry I'm finding it hard to get excited about the whole process at the moment!
