Please help. During K1 medical of course they will require drug test... I'm sure most people have used drugs at some point of their life. How long will the drug stay in your body? Or does it depend what kind of drug it was used? What if it's just mariajuana or weed? What if you took it 4 months ago or 6 months ago will it show on the medical results at the embassy if your interview is at the end of this month?

You will pass a drug test. However, if you answer "Yes" that you have used in your lifetime, then you will not pass. I would have to argue your statement, "I'm sure most people have used drugs at some point of their life". Although, a percentage of people have used at some point of their lives, don't assume that is okay just because you have in the past. And it will probably be legal one day in the U.S. So, it is up to you how you answer the questions in regards to previous drug use.

Can you please fill in your timeline?

Also which embassy are you with because you have posted this question many times. Best to just post in your area for best answers.

If you had used drugs in the past 4-6 months like you said, your drug test may turn up negative, however, divulging info during the medical and interview that you had used drugs (marijuana, meth, etc) even just once may cause denial and possibility of being "banned" to enter the US for life. There is still no waiver for this type of cases (drug use).

A 40 plus year old male being petitioned had divulged that he had used marijuana once when he was 18 years old (out of curiosity) and that caused him to be denied and banned for life.

Wow......harsh. I have known some people in the JA threads who have only been banned for 3 years. They have then moved on to recieve visas.

There have been cases here where the applicants admitted using drugs years ago and they were denied (outright) of pursuing/getting the visa. If being with your fiance/petitioner means a lot to you, a little lie about using drugs won't hurt. It's not that we'll advise you to lie but it seems like being honest about it can cause you big time.

There have been cases here where the applicants admitted using drugs years ago and they were denied (outright) of pursuing/getting the visa. If being with your fiance/petitioner means a lot to you, a little lie about using drugs won't hurt. It's not that we'll advise you to lie but it seems like being honest about it can cause you big time.

Am sorry to agree with you guys but we all know now from reading others mistacks on this question that the best answer is always "NO" even if you have had any type of drug use in your past..

If you've used just marijuana or weed 4 to 6 months ago, you will PASS the drug test.

You're right. The ban is only for three years and not life. I think "Citizen Pinoy" is just a TV show so I would not put much weight into it. TV shows tend to over-dramatized things.

Also even with a ban, one can apply for a I-601 waiver and an approved waiver overcomes the ban and results in visa issuance.

perhaps if we should read more, we could really try to dig in to it that in phil, although there's a saying that we can "waive" if ever being denied but, its not always the case... a lot of people waived for this after the visa denial but i havent heard of a successful one... using a lawyer didnt help either... a lot of fil-am families who petition their kids, wife etc hasn't got any avail after their family's denial just coz they admit they've used prohibited drugs at least once in their life... and if say, people are just over reacting, we should think again. seriously
