Question regarding NOA2 and 90 day timeframe

hello,

we recieved our NOA2 in february and it says on here "Notice type: approval notice Valid from 02/29/2008-06/28/2008"

is this the 90 day timeframe that we have to get married in? from reading on here and what not I was under the impression that the 90 day timeframe occurred after the interview at the consulate. Can someone please clarify?

The 90 day time frame you are referring to starts the first day you enter the USA

that's the validity of the I-129f approval. after you've received your visa, the 90 days you've referred to starts when you enter the USA.

Right.. The date on the NOA2 gives you the expiration date of the actual petition. No worries, though, the embassy will extend that expiration if they don't get to interviewing you by then.

You have 90 days from when you enter the USA to get married.

The NOA2 (or Approval Notice) is valid for 4 months - most people don't have to be concerned with this as the DOS and then Embassy/Consulate take care of everything (assuming you respond to things in a timely manner) - should there be a delay that stems from the Embassy/Consulate (which can happen in some countries), the consulate has the authority to extend this Approval Notice. In short, don't worry about this 'expiration' date.

The "90-day' time limit you're referring to is (most likely) the amount of time the foreign fiancé has to marry the US Citizen, once he/she arrives in the US.

(Side Note: Once your visa is granted, you have 6-months to enter the US - once here, you have 90-days to marry).
