oh please, not another thread!

we have killed this horse!

Maybe you think so...but my king bed is empty. Until my Paul is hogging this bed, I'm going to be demanding my rights as a REAL American. Oh...you know what probably even after...cause legal is legal. Right is right...and wrong is wrong.

I hate to tell you this, but you're not the only one alone here. It may do you better to learn how to deal with it.

Funny thing...I thought this place was about supporting one another through these hard times.

It is...but the separation is a natural normal part of the Visa process. As long as your wait doesn't get too long, it's just something you're going to have to accept.

Even if the wait is "too long", you still gotta wait.

See that's what bothers me so much. That these law-breakers are devirating the attention from the real issues...

* Why do we, USC, have to be seperated from our loved ones while the legals parade down our streets?

* Why does this process take so long?

* Why are we not allowed to just be together? It's ok from them to sneak across our borders but spouses have to live in different countries?

This has been a really bad day for me. I didn't mean to offend anyone...but I'm not a patient person. Especially when the whole system is so messed up.

This is just me saying we can agree to disagree...and some we can agree on...also, I certainly won't flame you for your opinions..everyone is entitled.

Myself, and I believe most of us here, I am SO against illegal immigration, and it's really annoying that people keep comparing IMMIGRANTS to ILLEGAL immigrants...two VERY totally different things. I feel for these people..I quite honestly really do...but there's a right and a wrong way to do things. They've chosen the wrong way.

As far as where I disagree...there are illegal immigrants of every descent, so I took a bit of exception when I kept reading 'Mexican' in your post. That's just a fact; there might be more of one or the other where you live, but there are a lot of races. In other countries, Illegal immigrants (happens in the Uk a lot as well, etc etc) might be primarily of another descent, and I would feel the exact same way about that.

Another point I have issue with is WIC coupons...now I don't take food stamps or anything like that..but there are people that work, are eligible, and truly need them. They might be in the minority, but they're out there. As far as WIC, I used them the entire time Corey was small..and I ALWAYS worked FULL TIME.. ie at least 40 hours a week..but my income was still insufficient and I was still eligible..raising a child on my own, I wasn't about to turn them down. Just my two cents...but I realize it was just a vent, and you are entitled to feel how you feel.

Michelle

Michelle,

I didn't mean to offend you. I used the word Mexican because the school I teach at is 68% Latino--almost exclusively of Mexican heritage. I live in San Diego, CA--30 minutes away from Mexico. I have taught 100's of Mexican children who didn't have papers (they are quite open about it). Perhaps in other parts of this country there are "illegals" from other countries, (I generally use the term undocumented, because a person can not be illegal, only their actions), but my experiences have been with people from Mexico--well, and a few from Guatemala. So, that is why I wrote Mexican.

Just my thought and one of the reasons I don't participate in the threads about this mess....

Not one dayum thing we say or do will change any of it.....We can piss and moan, we can be happy or sad about it....but the bottom line is...No amount of talking about it is gonna change it...

Just my thoughts, meant not to offend...
