Hi,

I wanted to prepare the I-134 ahead of time as suggested but have a few questions....

I was reading the I-134 form and Item II, A states:

Statement from an officer at the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited in the past year;

3. Present balance

So, I went to the bank and they said they cannot give me item 2. (Total amount deposited in the past year) because they have a standard VOD (?) and it does not include that information.

Do I need this data?

The I-134 also does not ask for any TAX information yet I have heard several mention this in these forums.

Can any one shed any light on these two items?

Thank you!

Curt

If your income is sufficient, you may simply skip all asset related questions. Per the instructions.

Hi driz,

I was under the impression that you had to send in tax info, but looking at the instructions from USCIS again now you're right, it only says you should send that in if it's self-employed.

I kind of go by the philosophy that more is better than less with this stuff. The instructions say to provide sufficient evidence of your income, etc. If you don't send in bank statements or anything - only send in your last few paystubs, and a letter from your employer, I guess maybe this is a bit shaky evidence? It seems very easy to just forge a boss's signature on a letter that you wrote on the company letterhead, for example, saying what your salary is and how long you've worked there. So I imagine sending in your tax info proves with more solid documentation that 1. you've worked at your job all year and 2. you do indeed make as much as you say you do.

pushbrk is right that you don't need to show any assets if you're 125% over the poverty level, so hopefully you are and luck out of that one? If not I would explain the situation to your bank and see what the most evidence they CAN offer you is. Maybe you can trace back your deposits online far, too? If you can't get the information, I'd at least attach a note in your packet explaining why. But this seems minor to me, if you send in all the other stuff showing your income, I wouldn't think it'd be in question.

Now, if you haven't gotten your income taxes back yet...I don't know what to tell you :\
