Hello,

My wife and I have finally received our interview date. We are doing a DCF in Bangkok. I have completed all the necessary documents, but the deadline for this year's tax season falls on the 15th of april, our interview is on the is on the 23rd of April. Will it be enough to show that my mother and I filed for extentions for this year or will I have to provide tax returns. I find myself quite stressed with this new development. If anyone knows or has been in a similar situation please let me know. Kind regards

Y

I take it your mother is a Co or Joint Sponsor.

All you can do is show the Consulate Officer the filed extension. However, the issue really is financial ability to be a sponsor. So it is an option to show photocopies of 2007 W-2's and 1099's from the sponsors. The Consulate Officer will be able to do the math with those to find adjusted gross income is acceptable.
