hello!

i just got off the phone with my husband in nicaragua who had his interview. it went well, except that they asked him the names of my parents and he couldn't pronounce them since they are in english! they looked at a bajillion photos he brought. i could barely hear him because he was on the bus home to his city-- but he said they didn't give him the visa because he didn't have a most-recent police certificate-- but that they gave him a slip and if he brings it back with the certificate he shoudl be good to go? does this make sense? does anyone else have experience with this/ or is this ap or ar?

ahhh so much going on in my mind please give me feedback!!!

A police certificate issued within the (usually) past year is a requirement. They won't issue the visa without it but if that's all that's missing, they'll do so shortly after receiving it.

There should be no need to worry. A friend of mine was also missing a paper when he went for his interview in El Salvador. They did the same thing with him just having him bring that back. As long as his police report comes out clean, they'll give him the visa (if they were going to deny him on other grounds they most likely would have done it without asking for him to come back).

Don't worry. Have him obtain his most recent police certificate and submit it to the Embassy.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
