We were approved last week, so I started trying to call NVC to find out if they've received my case yet. I called the 603 334-0700 phone number listed on their site and have gotten busy signals all day. Is this the number I should be calling and is the busy signal normal? Is there a better time to call?

I found the best time to call is when they open which is 7.30am, they are very helpful too.

Thanks S&J, I finally got past the busy signal but was unable to speak to an operator. I will try late tonight or get up early in the morning and call at 7:30.

My case was approved on Mar 13. I have called everyday and they still do not have our case.

To just check on your case push

1-1-1 the EAC = 1, LIN = 2, SRC = 3, WAC = 4, Other = 5, then 1, then enter your 10 numbers and then pound, 1 if entered correctly.

If you want to talk to someone push 1, then 5. If they say they are too busy call again, call right back it will take 2 or 3 times, but they will put you in the Que after a few tries.

Thanks, I was able to get all the way through the system with your suggestion. I had finally gotten through earlier, but when I selected #2 for K visas, it kept sending me to the operator queue and then kicking me out. They don't have my case, which I expected.

Apparently the K visas dont get put on the automated system, because they go through the nvc quickly usually.

Hmmm. This is really important info. No wonder the K-3 option kept trying to transfer me to an operator. Thanks a lot.

For anyone that has recently been approved and already has their case at NVC, how long did it take for you case to be transfered?

Thanks,

CG

Glad you made it through. Yeah I don't make any selections anymore cause the same was happening to me. I would get through and they would say your wait is more than 5 mintues and then the phone would disconnect. I call everyday and still they don't have my petition. I have seen some people get their NVC case numbers in like 3 days, but I think the last two weeks had A LOT of approvals so it may have overloaded NVC a bit.

Goodluck to you!

AGarcia,

Have you already gotten your approval notice in the mail? I am still not sure if we will be getting a K-3 or a CR-1. Both petitions were approved, but there is still some concern about what they are actually forwarding to NVC. A few people that were approved in February had their I-129F petition closed.

Here is what pshbrk told me about it. I completely spaced about his last comment about having to talk to a person.

"You won't know until you get a case number from NVC. A good indication will come from the wording on your I-130 approval notice when you see it. If it says your relative is in the US and the petition will be held, that's a pretty good indication that your I-129F will end up continuing through the process. If your I-130 notice instead says the petition is going to NVC, you'll just have to wait and see if they both show up there.

Remember, you'll get no information from NVC on a K3/I-129F case without talking to a human."

My I-130 & I-129F were approved on 3/7/08. USCIS sent my I-130 to NRC, and forwarded my I-129F to NVC. NVC received it a week later on 3/14/08, and I received a confirmation hardcopy mail from them on 3/20/08.

If I may, I suggest that you put your USCIS receipt number in the subject of an email and send an inquiry about your case to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. They will reply back with a lot of detailed information about your case. You do not have to keep waiting to get through to the operator that way.

Hope this helps & good luck!

Any time I wanted to get through the NVC I had to call at 11:30PM EST. The call goes straight to a customer service rep if you call late at night or early morning.
