In July during my 1st trip back from Peru, a met a guy from Chicago who was pursuing a K3 for his fiance in Lima.

We have been in touch and recently he asked me if Ive filled out a I-864. I told him that my lawyer didnt tell me

anything about it. But he insists that I need it. But I dont see anything about it on the embassy reviews. Does my fiance need to carry this form to her March 26 interview?

Your fiance will probably need an I-134, the affidavit of support, and the supporting evidence...This information should have been requested through information received from the embassy..Whatever the embassy asked for, is what your fiance needs.

K-Visas are NON-Immigrant and use I-134 for the visa interview.

I-864 is for GREEN-CARDS only. It is used for CR-1 and IR-1 IMMIGRANT visas because they result in green-card upon entry to the USA, and it is used later by K-Visa holders when they adjust status from NON-Immigrant to Immigrant when they file I-485 to adjust status.

You will find this explained here: http://travel.state.gov/pdf/I-864GenInfo-FAQ-Final.pdf

You do not need the I-864 for the K-1 interview. I believe the guy from Chicago was mistaken. Let us know if you have any other questions. Good luck with every thing.
