The i-134 is specific about what evidence to include for bank account information, but what evidence do I need to include to prove the value of my home. I have a tax bill that shows the value used to calculate the tax. Is that sufficient?

Also, do I need to include a copy of my entire mortgage document as proof I actually have the mortgage?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

If you are going to include your home as an asset (for most folks, if their earnings are sufficient, they do not include this type of information) the tax bill is an excellent way to 'prove' the value you listed on the form - you don't (or should not) need to copy/submit the mortgage documents.

Thank you! :-) I guess, then, there is no need to include the value of my cars either? My income is definitely above the poverty level and my I have a lot of equity in my home, so you are saying I should just stop once I've got enough? Hehe. I was going to try to provide information on just about asseat I had... <grin>

I sent in letter from employer stating current salary and how long I've been employed. I could have stopped there since salary was sufficient but I also included bank statement with current open accounts and balances. If you make enough of a salary to cover the poverty guidelines then you're fine. Including bank balances is extra and assets such as homes and cars I think is unnnecessary and a waste of time.

You may simply skip all asset related questions on the affidavit when your income is clearly sufficient.

Yes, include the property tax bill. Just send a copy of your mortgage statement, not the entire contract. On the bank statemets, I printed out

by combined bank statement, took it to my bank with a letter that states:

I [xx] am an official of the [X] bank and certify that as of [date] the following bank account balances are correct based on my

reveiw of the accounts on [date] held in the name of [xxxx]

Have the official sign and date this letter and have it notorized. [most banks have a notary and if you are a customer will notarize

with no fee involved]

Hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone that replied. Today I took my affidavit to a Notray Pulic and I'm done. :) I did include my home since I already had the backing information ready.

I appreciate all of the help!

Congrats and Chok Dee!! You got your approval FAST!!
