Thank you everyone! I came in at 12:25 am and had to be at work at 8 am. so im very tired. I already miss by husband but he will be here soon. so anyways....It pretty much went as I said earlier. They let him in at 7:30 but I had to wait to come in at 8:30 am. It was so unuasly hot there this time around and some friends did mention that it was the hottest season. I was not overly nervous because we had to determined to leave it in God's hands. But i waited in line with me and the guard at door let me in and the one inside had yelled at him and told him that I was the fiance so why let me in then he chastised my husband because he had told my husband I could not come earlier. I felt bad that I put my husband on the spot like that. but there was no separation of us when 8:30 came around. I got to sit with him and everything. I did have to sign in my name and the reason I was there. I put "accompanying husband for k3 interview". They called my husband to window 4 times I believe. Once to take paperwork and Once was to tell him his passport pics were not acceptable, then finger printed then interview. They told us to go to a specific place for new passport pics. I will ask my husband for the name when I talk next to him. but there was a taxi waiting outside and knew exactly where to go...kinda a set up partnership haha with embassy. Then we came back to bring new pics that were acceptable. Any ways after that he was called up for fingerprinting and then the interview. First he was sworn in and she aked maybe 3-4 questions. She did mention that it was nice to see a mature couple for a change. She said she had looked over everything and was satisfied then she wanted to talk with me and to express how everything was put together nicely. I did make it everything user friendly and that helped I guess. I think what helped was how I changed my name right away and put lil notes. Like I had put my old license and security card and passport and then all newones with new name and I put a note that said "wife immediatley changed her name when she returned home" I also put pictures and poems my mom created for my huband and pictures my lil niece drew of me and him...little things like that to show how my family sees him as part of the family. I included even our emails that were negative. To show we are real. What couples dont fight? But through everything we show how our mutual faith in God was our greatest tie. She had to have seen that because we talked about Jehovah all the time even when we argued haha She didask him "so you are tio?" Because my niece drew a pic of us with a bible in my husbands hand and put "tio and tia" on the top which means aunt and uncle in spanish. My husband swears the girl was spanish and that she recognized the terms. Maybe, but she looked anglo to me. Im really tired right now but if anyone has anything specific they wanna know just ask. Thank you all for your support and prayers. I wouldnt have been as cofident in our information if not for this forum.

It's so good to hear from you. I'm so happy things went well for you. I guess the guards have a sense of power, cause they could have let you in. It's silly to give you a hard time about something so trivial. Inusah also said that the embassy seems to have a set up to get pictures done, even though they don't dare list any of that in the paperwork. They tell everyone that they need to go to this place for pics now. I think that sucks personally. But such is life in this process you take whatever to get what you want in the end. Have you already arranged for his travel home? I pray everything goes smoothly.

yes they do hold some power. they saw that i was ready to pass out from the heat and they still refused to let me in whe. I managed to make my way the front of the building and the guards there (females) let me in and sit in the room and have a drink to cool off till 8:30 am. Even they were surprised I would not be let in til 8:30. The guards in front are used to dealing with embassy workers coming and going so maybe that is why they were very friendly and diplomatic. the whole process inside was very professional and efficient.

If you could I would highly recommemd you being there. Its not an automatic yes but I figured if they had any doubts with evidence my being there would help push them a little toward approval. After all its a decision that would change our lives, i made the sacrifice and im glad I did.

I decided to go too. I just know that I will feel better if I go. No matter what they do. They could treat us horribly with me there, cause my mouth often starts going before I've had a chance to stop it.....but this lack of control thing is about to send me into therapy. Bassi's nervous too, so he's happy to have me there. Me and my "american attitude". Whatever!

Good Zain! There is no reason why they would treat you badly. Just know you cant go in til 8:30 am . Bassi will be the one answering questions. You will feel better taking a more active role and if there is bad news at least you are there together. That is how I saw it. I was prepared either way. I was quite surprised by the smooth and easy way it went but if God is with you who can be against you? All i know is that if God wanted me in Ghana he would have made it come out differently but maybe he saw me passing out in the heat outside and felt mercy for me and knew i couldnt hang in Ghana for too long. haha! My husband was happy I was there and being able to spend time together before made the anxiousness decrease. By the way I asked my husband the name of the photographer and he couldnt remember either. but it was just a block from the embassy and it said Caribbean something. At least the embassy didnt say we had to come back another day to bring back improved pictures. We were allowed to leave and come back. It only took 15 mins.

Thanks Efia. Bassi is really really nervous, so I think that me being there will help calm his nerves a lot. hopefully  He asked me what primary school I went to. He says that if they ask him he doesn't know. I told him they have no reason to ask him that. I don't know what primary school my ex husband went to. Why would that be information expected of a couple to share? He said if they ask him, he has to know. So, I told him what primary school I went to. I have to get him to chill out. He's going back to play football on weekends. he had stopped for a while because of work. But I think he needs an outlet. He's going nutty on me. I don't think it matters about the pictures. They are probably going to tell us to go get another one, even if the one's we get are from that place to begin with. So, we'll just save the money and let them send us on that date. He's got the ones he got for the medical so, we'll take those with us to the interview.

Is he flying direct into JFK? Did you get the ticket before you left Ghana?

I was nervous thinking up problems that never even arose. Just give them all the evidence you can upfront. It will speak for itself.

The consular said not to buy ticket till he has visa in hand but the prices are rising so I will buy it tomorrow and if we have to change it will cost 200.00 but Im afraid they will go as high as 2000.00 so im buying tomorrow. I personally will never fly delta again. toooo many problems but for us this one time it was ok. I will stick with BA. Loved them.
