Letter of employment

Hello everyone.

I was just wondering if anyone had any problems getting a letter from their employer? Ok I am not proud of it but I work for Wal-Mart and I have been having problems with them signing a simple letter of employment. I am so pissed because they say they no longer do that and I must fill out a form or give them a form to fill out. I never heard of a form that I can give them from a visa or Affidavit of Suport. I am just so angry I do not wish to share my business with them and I feel this is nothing they need to know about. I am shure that you all may know that working at Wal-Mart is like being in hight school where everyone tells your business to everyone else. Even telling them what it is for they still will want me to use a form and they will not sign any letter.

Has anyone else gone through this cr#p before?

I just want to know what is the best thing I can do? This can destory everything for me now. How can you work for a place and they can never do anything for you in return

you will just need to explain that it is for the imigration and let them know that the US embassy that requested the information is not in the US. my employer told me the same and I had to explain myself to the manager realy hard and he told the HR to get me the ready.

Try typing the letter yourself and submitting it for signature. It just needs to include how long you've worked there, your pay, your employment status, and your pay. My boss wrote one paragraph to the effect of she has worked here since January 2006, is employed full time, and makes $2.13 per hour plus tips.

Along with my last years tax return and paystubs this was sufficient to prove my ability to support my SO.'

I find by writing it yourself you make sure all the necessary income is included and it is easier to get a signature than an entire letter.

No, you can't type it on a plain paper - you will need official stationery. So the best thing to do is to tell them what you need it for - seems like you are too paranoid about your sponsoring a foreigner - are you ashamed of your fiancee? Why? Don't worry about your co-workers wanting to know - this is normal in any job and you have to deal with it in a dignified way to make it work for you. How are you going to deal with your neighbors/friends/family who will want to know even more than your co-workers. If you are ashamed of this fact - then you should not go forward with it. Millions of us are not ashamed of it - we are proud of this and are very happy with our decisions. Good Luck

Is the letter from the employer a requirement? There are many ways to demonstrate ones employment and earnings capacity sans this letter....

YMMV

I am not ashamed of it at all! I am only saying they tell me they do not write ANY leter of employment for anyone for any reason! I was told I can fill out form or they can give me an enployment record. I would never be ashamed of my fiance I do not care if I work cleaning up sh#t I am only saying that, I worry if they know what is for they are more likely not to help me. They are saying it is not in their policy to write those letter anymore. I pissed at them because I am not asking for them to go out of their way to do something for me just a simple favor, I am not telling a lie I have been working over a year and gotten good evaluations but they just give me a bunch of cr#p and not tell me anything they can assist me with.

The employment letter has to be on Offical Company letterhead so you can't write it yourself. There is no form that I know of, if there was then HCMC Consulate would include in the Packet 3. HCMC Consulate is clear about requiring an employment letter and it's has to state the length of your employment, whether your position is considered permanent or temporary and of course your salary.

There's no reason for Walmart not to do that since it's a requirement for your I-134. You can try showing them the HCMC Consulate letter of instructions for the I-134 so they will understand that it is a requirement of the US State Department. Walmart is worried about liablity or your boss is one of those who like to impose their power over people. Showing them the letter show make them understand that there is none for them in writing the letter. If your fiancee didn't send you the I-134 instruction letter or a copy of it, I have it which I can email you. You can print it out to show them.

Most jobs are like high school, not just walmart. People like to gossip, etc that's why there's many gossip mags and tv shows. Walmart may not be the best job but it's what you have now so you should use it to get your fiancee here to the US. What they think at work doesn't matter. Getting her here does matter.

If they still refuse, ask them to write a letter stating that they refuse to write letters. If they won't do that either, I would write statement saying that to take to the interview. I would also contact the HCMC Consulate to ask them if there is a form they would accept instead of the letter since Walmart won't give you a letter.

First of all I am not saying I would be ashamed of my fiance.

If any of you really new the person I am you would understand me better. I love my fiance so much if I could not have her here I would leave her to spend my life with her

in her country. So being ashamed is far from any thought im my mind. I know other people at my work have their own beliefs and will put them ahead of helping me. I am

only ahsamed of my employers not be willing to help me with something as simple as this letter. The thought about people talking is how people bend things so much father

from the truth and hurting people close to you. I know there are a lot of haters there who hate that men and women find love in other countries and other lands. My whole

family loves my fiance and but I have had some people who know me ask me why I could not find someone here? I do not bash any woman at all. I love my mother and

she is the reason I am the man I am today. I raise women above myself because I came from one of the most wounderful woman in my life. I love my fiance because I

spent so long finding a woman who shared the same beliefs of family being 1st and many other ones and I am completely happy with her. My Fiance is everything I

dreamded of she is everything I hope to be myself she is the Center that binds me to my core. She keeps me from being lost and free from all global worries she is the one

that helped rebuild my life and work for a future.

I have had some woman tell me why I not find someone here with a jealous face, and I told her that love is not bounded by race or country, if you want to find that great

love you must be willing to go to the ends of the Earth to keep when you have it.

Thank you.

I will call the Consulate this morning asking for what they might they will accept. I do not mind telling them what this is for and even when I said it was for the government they said it is still the same even if it's the IRS. I really have no clue to what reason they have for not writing any letter as simple as this. I know Wal-Mart make everything harder of ther employees with things like this and with insurance. It just drives me crazy no that employers treat their employees this way it is not wonder that everyone I work with dislikes how the company treats them.

My job gave me SUCH hard time about the freakin letter!!! It's been a week now since I've requested it, and I still haven't gotten it. I had to fax payroll about 7 pages of PROOF that I needed it! Just hang in there, and fight for it. It's the government requesting it, so just mention that... NO ONE likes to piss off the government.

Sorry - but where did you get the idea that the OP was ashamed of his fiance??? This person is obviously frustrated at the fact that everyone at Walmart is nosey! (Which by the way is a job none the less) It is NOT his co-worker's business what happens outside of the workplace. My advice - fill out "the form", explain only to your boss or HR the reason for it then carry on with your petition. If they refuse and want to be jerks about it you can always use your paystubs as proof of dates of employment and pay rate. Good luck.

My company does not usually provide a letter, but I persisted and HR was nice enough to go outside their normal operation to write a letter. I took a copy of the instructions for the I-134 and also explained that this was for a government form that will be reviewed overseas. Hopefully it'll just take a little persistence on your part to get it.

To the OP: Have you looked at this "Employment Record" that Walmart has offered you? Maybe it has the information you need. That might be your solution for an official acknowledgement of Employment.???

Good Luck!
