Safe and decent rest areas regularly spaced along the interstate complete with restrooms, maps, vending machines, sometimes an information center and an area to take a break during a long drive

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

A 20 questions interrogatory before I finally get my sandwich...If I promise I won't tell the difference between golden mustard, honey mustard and spicy mustard, will you please give me my sandwich already!?

I love Dr Pepper...and Wendy's!

Turn-only lanes...20 mph school zones...Technology and cars are more affordable.

You generally won't find a used heroin needle in your mailbox in the US.

Not having my boobs grabbed or my ### smacked by drunk strangers as they walk by.

That sound bad :help:

Saludos,

Caro

Not having to worry about my friends who are asian or just darker-featured being beat up/stabbed/having their throat slit by neo-nazis, and also not having to walk by racist graffiti all the time.

My university in the US has never not had paper because someone embezzled 20 million dollars.

Policeman in the US do not go around trying to get bribes from people and are actually there to help me (although i realize this could also be different if i were of a different race/gender).

Not having to register and being able to live in whatever US city or state I please.

You generally won't find a used heroin needle in your mailbox in the US.

Not having my boobs grabbed or my ### smacked by drunk strangers as they walk by.

Not being grinded into by drunk middle-aged men on transport so crowded you can't move.

Traffic lights actually work.

Drivers stick to the road and don't drive on sidewalks.

Not being unpleasantly surprised by an unflushing toilet because the hot water is turned off.

Not having to live without hot water in the summer.

Being able to drink the tap water.

Russia and Kazakstan have soooooo many similarities!

Hmm... That one does not seemed to be limited to the US, we certainly have that freedom/ability to do that in India. :innocent:

And so many to choose from!!! :star:

Being able to enter certain temples freely though is another matter.....

if Hindu temples pulled the racist isht in the US that they pull in India and Nepal they would have huge civil rights lawsuits...

Yes! But I feel more 3rd world countries despite their financial and living conditions still worship their God(s). Many Americans have so much, but we less often give credit to GOD!

I often use my washing machine or dryer and thank GOD for letting it last another day. They are as old as my ten year old son. I have my grandfather 1998 Ford Torus station wagon that I often thank God for keeping it good riding condition. I do not want a car payment.

We are also fortunate to practice our own faith without wars starting out. Unfortunately their is still racism against people's religion, but there`are laws to protect those rights.

Caro...ordering sandwiches was one thing that just flummoxed me when I moved back to the US...I mean, there are so many damn CHOICES everywhere you go! I still sometimes get paralyzed by them, but the sandwich ordering thing is just ridiculous.

Actually, I find America far more religious that the UK where I hail from. In fact, in many places if you don't believe in god then you are shunned.

The thing that I love about America is the huge open spaces. And raccoons. Love those likkle creatures. Adorable.

I know... But the difference is that in the US it's pretty isolated. In St. Petersburg (I haven't spent that long in other Russian cities, but my impression is that it's not that different or worse in other places) it's everywhere. I lived in a really nice, safe neighborhood in the center of the city.

Not having to worry about my friends who are asian or just darker-featured being beat up/stabbed/having their throat slit by neo-nazis, and also not having to walk by racist graffiti all the time.
