I love evrything about the US, as a woman having the freedome of going places without a man shaperoning meis great. Sometimes I feel that people that were born in the US dont truly know how lucky they are. I mean, I personally cant wait to be able to vote, and have jury duty.

I'm trying to get out of going to jury duty right now. It's so boring !

Just say "Guilty" every time they ask you a question.

After 1 month in Viet Nam I would answer this question:

EVERYTHING!

hot water, good electricity, gas piped to the house not in a bottle

kids have yards and parks to play in not right out in the middle of the street

variety in our meals and enough to go around for the whole family, we dont have to eat the same meals over and over

our treats, here we dont feel just a small bite of chocolate is such a treat, small item for us but a treat (as is ice creme)) to them

Oh yeah - I remember going to Germany for the first time at 17 and being like ' WHAT??? You have to pay to take a whiz?????':angry::help:

What I gathered from watching their version of Cops is that the law is if you REALLY have to urinate, whoever has the public restroom is obligated to let you go without paying if you don't have the money. However, in reality, you would generally have to call the cops to force the owner to let you use the restroom if he refused. By then you might have pissed all over yourself.

I was truely surprised to find out that Germany had a law against public urination. So many people piss in public it is mindblowing. You would think it was legal. I imagine if they just made it illegal to pay to go to the bathroom then they wouldn't have such a problem.

As a side note though, the first country in which I encountered this pay to pee problem was Belgium. :P

Having never eaten Asian food (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc) anywhere but in the U.S. and Canada, I can't say for certain. However, I'd have to imagine it's not all that different, considering that Asian food isn't native to either the U.S. or the UK, but to the Asian countries to which it belongs. There might be a few differences here and there (every restaurant is unique in some fashion or another), but overall, I can't see there being some huge, startling difference between the Chinese food in the U.S. and the UK. It's more than likely where you've been eating, since some places just have pure, plain ####### and others serve excellent dishes.

I'm not sure what English Chinese food is like, haven't tried it yet... :( I LOVE Indian food, but I am not a fan of Indian Chinese - like to keep the Indian spices for Indian, and the American spices for Chinese... I have a feeling that I would hate actual Chinese Chinese food!

And according to legend, the Chop Suey style actually originated from the Galley of a US Navy ship in Kowloon Harbor back in the early 1900s.

I like some of my cheap chinese food with french fries. Goes good with all that sauce.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Yes, but I was referring to "decent" Chinese food. Not the kind you can purchase at some sort of Chinese fast food equivalent. :P

I love Indian Chinese food, but then American Chinese food generally is not spicy enough for my palate, so there you go...

When I went to China to climb Mt. Emei I actually was going to bring a small bottle of hot sauce with me because we were staying at monasteries and I thought the food would be super bland like the food they serve at the Chinese Buddhist temples here in NYC... I was in for a very pleasant surprise - this being Sichuan even temple food is spicy and since at the lower elevations the monks and nuns all grew their own vegetables it was absolutely heavenly.
