Our first day in srinagar we were in the taxi going to the hotel and there was a student shot right there right then it was awful but after living in Pakistan for a few years it was not as shocking as it would have been.........

I saw that in Jammu once. It was in a marketplace, some kind of family feud. He was shot right in front of everyone.

I love evrything about the US, as a woman having the freedome of going places without a man shaperoning meis great. Sometimes I feel that people that were born in the US dont truly know how lucky they are. I mean, I personally cant wait to be able to vote, and have jury duty.

I'm trying to get out of going to jury duty right now.It's so boring !

Take for granted not having to wait 3 months for an interview for the opportunity to go abroad on a tourist visa, unlike what foreigners (at least Brazilians) have to endure to come visit the U.S.

- Drive thru anything, ATMs, food, pharmacies, weddings.

- Hot water whenever you want it and as hot as you want it.

- 24 grocery stores & pharmacies.

- Safe and clean highways.

- Even though we have maniacs driving on the streets of the US, traffic is 100 times better than traffic in Colombia.

- Bill pay.

- Having a ton of different choices when it comes to restaurants. Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Cuban, Thai, Japanese, Russian, etc. etc.

- The list goes on and on.

Oh yeah!!! The two words I hate the most when I'm over there are 'Nepal bandha' - basically the whole country shuts down....

Here's another one: You can't be barred from entering a house of worship solely because of your race or ethnicity in America - related to my post in the 'how much do you know about your SO's culture' thread

You can kiss and hug your SO as much as you like in public(like at the airport if you haven't seen each other in 11 months..... and nobody really cares

You can have that in KTM too, in the tourist area, but the food usually sucks....
