I just thought i'd see what everyone else keeps themselves busy with while going through this process.

I'm still waiting for my NOA2, but I figure it can't be too much longer so i'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. I've made my appointment to get my vaccination records, i've printed off the paperwork to send off for the new police certificate and I get my passport photographs taken this week. I have also confirmed that one of my fathers friends who has known me since birth is eligible to 'confirm' that I am who I profess to be for the purposes of the police report. (This new process is a lot more contrived!)

I've sorted out all kinds of stuff from my home that I don't need, and have started selling things on eBay, I have also started backing up all my DVD's to an mpeg4 format so that I can transfer them all to an external harddrive and take them with me to the US.

I'm also trying to make sure that I spend at least 4 nights a week out with either friends and/or family, since I figure I wont have that luxury once I move.

What are you all doing to keep busy and while away the hours until you're back with your SO?

The same things I did before I started this process. Life goes on and waiting is a part of it.

Hey

Well I am a self-employed website developer and at the same time in my final semester of a bachelor's degree here in the UK as a mature student. This keeps me pretty busy - I have three assignments due in after the Easter break, then after that three group projects, another assignment then three exams. I am hoping to have everything all done so I can jump right on a plane when college is over in June!

Being busy doesn't really make the waiting any easier, though - I still want my NOA2, and I want it right now!!!!

In my case, the question should be, "How can you stop being busy?" :D As a matter of fact, I had to draw up a 'to-do' list in preparation of my departure (I am a Feb filer too, and all I know at this time is that our file hasn't been processed yet). I go to work every day at 7 a.m., get home at about 5-6 p.m., then email my darling and collapse into bed rather early. On weekends, we spend the afternoon and part of the evening on MSN together, and during the week we exchange TMs with our cellphones, in addition to the nightly emails.

In the meantime, I'm trying to arrange my affairs here. I'm going to leave quite a few things in Italy, because it's easier for me to do so, and nowadays with e-banking, email and such it's quite easy to manage your affairs from abroad. As half of the flat where I live belongs to my brother, I am going to take with me only a small amount of what I have at home, and leave the rest to him to deal with (we are sort of estranged at the moment). I'll actually call the movers this week, and see if they can give me an estimate of how much it is going to cost me to have my stuff shipped over to the US. The paperwork required for the interview is not hard to get here, thank heavens - I should be able to get both police clearance and BC in one or two days tops.
