Dual US/British Citizenship for baby

Hello,

My husband and I are due to have our first child in a matter of weeks. My husband is british and at this point will not pursue dual citizenship for himself. He would like our child to have dual citizenship. Does anyone know how to pursue british citizenship for our child?

Hi there,

I went through the process for my daughter (we are Australian though not British). I happened to find the following website which should help

Im not sure if this is the official emabassy website but it appears to be. Otherwise, contact your local British embassy for more info. From what I read it appears you can just apply for a passport for your baby without registering their birth. We had to apply for citizenship by descent for my daughter first so you have it easier.
