PCC requires Appointment Letter?

My wife was trying to get the Police Clearance Certificate or Passport Clearance whatever it is at the Passport Office in Ahmedabad. They refused to let her speak with an officer because they said you can't get one without an Appointment Letter...

Anyone what what appointment letter she needs? I printed the Packet 3 from Mumbai Consulate's website and told her to take that, but that did not work... I guess the appointment letter contains some file number...

Please let me know if you know how to get this done at Ahmedabad.

04-16-2008 Interview Date Assigned!!! ( Interview Date: June 16, 2008 )

06-16-2008 Visa Received!!

06-24-2008 USA Arrival (POE Seattle, WA)

07-14-2008 I-485 AOS Sent

When i too went for PCC, they too demanded interview letter.....wht i did was i took print out of DS 230 instructions letter along with PCC details from the website and showed them, they intailly refused and finally accepted it!!

My wife obtained her pcc from ahmedabad. She took with her NVC appointment processing instructions and NVC letter stating case #, spouse, etc. Which helped.

07/27/2007 : Mailed I130 for spouse (VSC)

09/20/2007 : NOA1

11/07/2007 : NOA2

NVC

11/20/2007 : Case # Assigned

03/10/2008 : Case Completed!

03/20/2008 : Interview Scheduled & Interview letter mailed

03/25/2008 : Beneficiary received interview letter

03/25/2008 : Case forwarded to consulate. NVC message updated on 3/28/08.

05/22/2008 : Interview

05/22/2008 : Visa granted and passport collected same day.

05/26/2008 : POE (Newark, NJ).

My fiance had to showed them the approved NOA2, to get Passport PCC and Local PCC.

  • Apporved NOA2 on Nov 9, 2007
  • Received Hard Copy of NOA2 on Nov 17, 2007
  • Received Mail from NVC with case number on Dec 28, 2007
  • Received at US Consulate New Delhi on Dec 28, 2007
  • Transfered to US Consulate Chennai from New Delhi on Jan 31, 2008
  • Received at US Consulate Chennai on March 10, 2008
  • Submitted Packet 3 at VFS Bangalore on March 17, 2008
  • Received Packet 4 at Bangalore on March 24, 2008
  • Interview Date Scheduled for April 04, 2008
  • Rejected - 221g

I have a huge problem with my eyes, I don't see us loosing to this frekin' process.

My wife also tried to get the PCC from passport office in ahmedabad, but those a$$ hole who works there want to see the appointment letter which we cant get untill we submit PCC. I guess they dont understand the logic why someone requires PCC before they can get the appointment letter. n e ways keep us inform.
