Has anyone else noticed that in the "guides" for K1 visa, the cover letter outline and the order to assemble the I-129F packet are not in the same order? For example, the letter to intent is #5 in the assembly, but listed 7th on the cover letter. Are we required to have the forms in a certain order?

I'd recommend listing what's included in the packet on the cover letter (in an easily-parsed bulleted list), and then having the contents of the packet be in that same order.

Yup, I say the same as Jesse.

Don't worry so much about this. The center actually only requires that you send everything in and doesn't say anything about an order or certain way of putting it together. It's only better to try to make it as easy for the adjudicator as possible, so hopefully your file will move faster/avoid RFE's if there's some info they can't find.

For my cover letter I bulleted everything included, in the order I put it in. And I just had a couple dividers I put in, one section was the basics: the forms, the passport pics, birth certificate, letters of intent, etc. Another was primary evidence: flight receipts, hotels, whatever. Third (which you don't even need, I sent in extra stuff) was secondary evidence: all the proof you have an ongoing relationship.

Someone that used to work in the adjudicating offices said that when they receive a file, they take everything out of whatever the person's put it in (folders, whatever) and put it in their special center format and file things. So don't feel like you need to go buy anything special to put it all in either. I just put a big ol rubber band around mine.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent
