Police Records in Lima Peru

What happens at the interview if you do not have the "CERTIFICADO DE ANTECEDENTES JUDICIALES A NIVEL NACIONAL", because you are still waiting to receive it? Will the visa be delayed until we can show this?

Yes your visa will be delayed. They may say that you are approved when you can send that in to them. Good Luck!

If all other criteria is met and they have the intent to grant the VISA they will give you a yellow slip marking what you need to return (in this case the certificado). You will DHL the certificado and the passport back to the embassy (they will not take it in person) and aslong a everthing is clear with the certificate they will return the passport and VISA via DHL.

This happened to us. We requested it about a week and a half before the interview and were told it would be available on March 18th at 9 am, unfortunatly the interview was the 18th at 8 am. We mailed it back DHL the same day....

Sometimes they come in 5 days, other times 10 or 15. Just request it as soon as you can. And if you don't get it in time don't stress too much, there are procedures in place.

The question is still informational at this point I believe. It looks like the K-1 was recently filed. There should be plenty of time to obtain the needed certificates after NOA2, NVC, packet 3/4...

Does anyone know if it is possible to get any or all of the police records without traveling to Lima? My fiancee lives in Iquitos. Assuming that it could take up to 15 days to get all 3 of the police records, it does not make much sense to fly to Lima just to get this process started. Thank you for any info.

You may want to repost your question as a new topic in this forum. Also from what my wife told me, the certificado has a shelf life of 3 months once it is issued, so dont get it to early. You may want to reconfirm this.

I believe that you have to get the national police check in Lima only. Isa lived in Piura and she had to fly to Lima 2 weeks before the interview to get the required paperwork from Lima. She did medical at the same time and was able to saty with relatives. You may want to ask your fiance if they have family or friends in Lima they can stay with. Godd luck with every thing.
