My wife came to the U.S. from Colombia on a K-1, we was married and now we are going through the A.O.S.

On the I-485 application......I know what the I-94 card is, there is a computer generated number at the top of this on the front, then there is also a hand written number on the back of it beginning with an "A". This is written under "record of changes" on the back of the I-94.

My question is......For the I-485 form.....the I-94 number is the computer generated number on the front? And the A# is the one that's handwritten on the back beginning with an "A"? And the nonimmigrant Visa number is the number printed in red on the Visa portion of the passport?...... is this correct?

Also, pertaining to the G-325A.....

Am I supposed to fill out 4 pages for HER and 4 pages for ME also or just for HER?

When filling them out for her (the alien) the first number they ask for is the "File number" and they have an "A" printed on the form....is this the same as the number written on the BACK of the I-94 starting with the "A"?

At the bottom of these pages for the G-325A, it asks for the "alien registration number".....which number is this?

Any help is greatly apprecitated. Thanks!!

You are correct.

You must only fill out the G-325A for HER. The A number (the one that starts with A on the I-94) is the same thing as the alien registration number, and also the file number on the G-325A.

Just to verify the handwritten A#, you can also find it on the K1 visa and also on the I-797 Notice of Action in the Beneficiary field.

For the AOS package, the I-864 is filled out by Sponsor, rest all including G325A is filled out by Applicant.

Vinay,

Point of clarification, to avoid panic on the part of some - not always.

You have all the answers already. Just don't forget to drink some Aguardiente prior to filling the applications (or may be after.) I actually wrote the same number for A# and visa # but the interviewer just corrected it and it didn't cause any problem for us. Good Luck
