Hi,

I opened a checking account yesterday but their system did not recognise my SS#. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I received my SS# on 20th March but the date on my SS card says 12th march. I am going to ring the SS tommorow but just wondering if anybody has had this issue or know why it might happen.

It's not uncommon - might take a couple of weeks to show up in/on SS# validation systems.

It took almost a month for my bank to be able to recognize Andre's SSN.

Ok, as long as I am not the only one. I was going to apply for a credit card also but did not do it because of this. I have my checking account, I will just have to go to the bank and update my SS# a couple of weeks later!
