Do you think I should bring my brother's approved/completed K1 paperwork from 13 or so years ago? Both him and his wife are still happily married with 2 kids, 14 and 10 year old. I think it would definitely help in terms of having a good history of K1, which the couple is still married presently. (kinda like borrowing a loan with a good credit history comparing to no credit history - good credit history obviously have a better chance of getting the loan) However, I am also afraid they might delay the pink slip and ask for more info regarding this. Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Phuong

Hi, Phuong. Your brother's K1 has nothing to do with you or your petition. I wouldn't bring any paperwork or even mention it. I think its best to just focus on you and your fiance. What if you get some crazy CO who misinterprets your intention, don't give them any reason to think twice about your petition.

It's great that your brother's K1 visa has turned out well. Congrats to him. However I don't think the Consulate cares about him. It's you and your case now not his. I don't think they'll even look at it and if they do, then they could start asking questions you can't answer. You're applying for a K1 visa not a car loan. Spend your time finding things you and your fiancee can say/write to answer any questions the Consulate could raise at your fiancee's interview. You want your fiancee to pass her interview the first time.

If you or your Spouse had a close Relative that had divorced after Immigrating it might be an issue that had to be addressed. I would have the paperwork on hand in case they do ask about it (they may know about it already). Don't send it in with your Fiancee' (I agree that you don't want to give them any more to think about) but have it just in case. I have been told that they do look at the relationships of relatives that have Immigrated. I don't know about Siblings that have sponsored/married. Just my 2 cents.
