My husband called and got through to someone he feels was helpful. Basically he asked how come ppl who filed in August are getting approved before July filers and the answer was.

We do them in order of date.

Many I-130's have work visa's as well so this jumps the queue.

As far as they know anyone approved for NOA2 in August ahead of the July ones must be are reason, expediated on grounds of bad health, financial distress to petitioner being without the other half or work visa.

If that is so then how come so many that are getting approved at CSC before June/July that DONT have expediate issues or work visa as well pending?

Is this info wright?

Good question.

I feel a bit guilty after seeing some of the dates posted.

Some filers had to wait up to 3 months to receive NOA1 for 130. Then wait another

two months for NOA1 for 129. TOTAL time 5 months.

Meanwhile a few have received I 130 approvals as quick as 47 days!

Although I received both of my NOA1 in 7 days, some people have filed months before me and have yet to receive NOA1 for either.

Interestingly, some people are unable to access case status online for weeks.

I believe the discrepency is caused by the individual(s) assigned to process each file and in having files sent/transferred to the wrong locations. This back and forth can eat up weeks.

My second hypothesis is that each case might undergo a preliminary criminal/irs/child support lookup. If a file clears, it moves up the chain. Otherwise, it has to pass manual scrutiny.

I say this because the State Department uses a similar system when approving U.S. passports.

I've had my passport renewal in 5 days where standard processing takes up to 2-3 months.

A third "guess" is that USCIS might be looking at the beneficiary's biography. Perhaps, job history may have an influence on priority.

Last, it is also possible that files are categorized by how they arrived at the processing center. For example, if a package arrive via overnight, it is considered EXPRESS processing whereas standard first class receives standard processing.

Again, nobody knows.....but it is ironic how some that filed after are getting theirs first.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.
