OK. Lets backtrack and not label you a racist. Sound fair?

If I was racist I would be proud for someone to call me a racist. Key word being "If".

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Steve what is you point. Two good friends of mine in Australia are South African and actually darker than most black Americans I have seen.

My point is that your prejudice has more to do with region than ethnicity, correct?

Come on Steve. The second someone mentions black and American they are branded a racist. Especially if the comments following the two words are not power to you or poor poor you. This thread is proof of that. Then people try to bait you into saying something or looking for a weakness in the argument so they can say "see you are a hate mongering racist".

I was recently in London and spent time with my friends and their friends who are African. We get along like a house on fire. When I was married quite a few of my wifes friends and family friends are black. So clearly the color of skin is not the issue here. If people refuse to understand that then I can and will play this posting BS game all week. Especially since my wife is overseas and I have the next few days off.

OK. Lets backtrack and not label you a racist. Sound fair?

bump

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That's what I'm trying to say - your prejudice isn't towards one ethnicity, but towards people of a particular culture or subculture. I'm not keen on the term, racist - I think it's overused. To me, a racist is someone who believes that there are some ethnicities inferior to others. If that's not what you aspire to, then I wouldn't call you a racist, but you are a bigot when you express prejudice towards people from a particular subculture...Black Americans.

If you had to pick a label for your beliefs, what would it be?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Not always brother BY... many a racist like to keep themselves closet racists, but for the record, I am wiping any suggestion/insunuation/request that you confirm your prejudice of African Americans.

The point to support (even your points of view) will be: BY is NOT a racist. BY is smarter than the writing on the thread. So... lets go there and let the issues flow as in the structure I suggested a couple of pages back.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I am still waiting for you to tell me exactly what my views and beliefs are. Apparently you know them better than I do..

He's giving you the flexibility to define yourself... take it brother BY, take it...

You can't be baited into saying something you don't believe. And no one has had to look for anything. You have stated it clearly and plainly for all to see.

Knowing someone who knows someone who you got along with during a visit does not get you a Get Out of Jail for free card.

Why when it is much more fun having seven people I barely know, let alone ever met, telling me what I believe and what my views are.

I did and it does not show anything. Do you even realize why that was brought up? One hint, it wasn't about the data itself..

As I said you continually (this being the latest of many similar threads) pour scorn on the idea of a relationship between poverty, demographics and inner city crime. In that vein you present surface statistics without any analysis to prove your point.

I simply looked at the numbers, made a quick calculation and said "proportionality" matters when trying to interpret the data.

Simple. And elementary.

Just define yourself, BY. Its not hard.

If its not what you believe, you should be grown up enough to correct them and factually state your claim. That's all we're asking for, regardless of whether or not you are having fun being paraphrased according to your own written word.

So... take it... You Non-racist.

Even though you have always been full of #### on VJ, can you show me where I was racist.

PS Have a look at the definition of racism in the Oxford North American dictionary before opening your mouth.

Well you made the statements that PH summarised (though we could provide explicit quotes if you really feel that you've been misinterpreted). Either the comments that you've made reflect your beliefs or they don't.

Ph couldn't summarize what day it is so no they are not what I meant or believe.
