On Sudanese immigrants: someone must not have told Kevin Andrews (former Immigration Minister under the John Howard Govt) who got himself into some hot water with comments he made about the African immigrant community last year...

Well, there's lots of evidence about this. I receive through my department community reports on a regular basis, and those reports over this year have included a number of incidents around race-based gangs, altercations between various groups from Africa, disagreements amongst prominent African community organisations, tensions within families, et cetera, et cetera.

If you look in terms of race-based gangs, that's quite evident. Here in Melbourne, that's quite evident. Altercations between various African groups at community functions, at nightclubs et cetera, and remember, this is not seeking to demonise the people, it's actually seeking to put better services in and slow down the rate of intake so we can help them.

Some groups don't seem to be settling and adjusting into the Australian way of life as quickly as we would hope.[

sound familiar?

What about this?

Not to draw too much from these comments, because Andrews didn't deign to back up his comments with any sort of proof (hmmm sounds familiar doesn't it...) The conflict in Sudan has much to do with tribal factions, rather than slavery and emancipation under Australian whites. There's also a question of time - the Sudanese immigrants have not been living in Australia for very long, certainly not long enough to facilitate the sort of race/class divide seen in the US. In that respect I'd say the aborigines are the better analogy, seeing as they have been living in the country from its inception - and there are indeed significant social disparities between aboriginal communities and the rest of Australia.

But then again BY should know more about this than anyone - seeing as he's from Australia and all...

Your killing with the big words. No speaka ingleze.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I am an engineer and have a masters in economics; so someone like yourself is not going to teach me about science. Maybe your little brain simply cannot comprehend what I am saying. On the other hand do you actually expect me to sit here and lay out my views, in detail, for you to understand. Not going to happen and certainly not for you. Then again maybe you need something written out on a 3rd grade level.

I can only imagine how you got along with your fellow classmates.

Well since you want to blame the whiteys in your mind for everything under the sun, it might be worthwhile to also know a little bit of Sudanese history, to fancy your tangent: Sudan was a British colony.

Perhaps you need to be reminded of scientific reasoning as well, but then again its yet another thing for the likes of yourself to be reminded of and frankly if you can't handle #1 on the list how can you be expected to deal with 2,3,4, etc? lol

Honey, I am an engineer and have a masters in economics; so someone like yourself is not going to teach me about science. Maybe your little brain simply cannot comprehend what I am saying. On the other hand do you actually expect me to sit here and lay out my views, in detail, for you to understand. Not going to happen and certainly not for you. PS So England is now to blame for Sudan. Yep of course. They are white..

So I guess a Masters in Science and a soon to be PhD in Science is no match for your powerful engineering and economics degrees...

Then again, an advanced degree is never enough to cover what natural selection did not failed in your apparent reaching for *tangential* straws.

You brought up the tangent, you deal with it, wall.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Uh, oh! "Honey" has been pulled out. Them's fightin' words!

Yeah... somehow I think the invisible type theorem does not apply to Mr Tangent. Perhaps we're dealing with not just a problem in reading comprehension but also a short term memory deficit?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I actually think there's a pretty decent mix of views represented here

Completely agree and welcome open-minded discussions...

Um. The aborigines have been separate from Africans for about 10,000 years now. Unlike the 4 to 6 generations here. Culturally they are not similar to Africans or black Americans. I think it is you who is being racist and bring them into the equation solely based on the color of their skin.

PS My cousin in actually married to an aboriginal women.

For someone with an MA in Economics you certainly have dropped a few clangers, haven't you. Remember you tried to rebut one of my posts in a previous thread (I had claimed that crime and poverty go hand in hand - or something similar) with the suggestion that the ranking between poorest and most crime-ridden cities didn't match up 100%. It wasn't difficult to see what was wrong with that argument - and I don't have the MA in Economics...

education usually equals being somewhat wealthy, so i don't believe someone who is well off would live in either would they?

Are you kidding me? Don't you know that college students are only one step away from being homeless?:whistle:

Funny, because last time I checked my four investment properties in AUS are now worth over $2.4 million USD. I am happy so many English citizens, amongst many others, are migrating there daily and pushing up the price.

And my 6 investment properties in the UK are worth 12 Mill USD, your point? Oh, that you live in a fantasy world where you can make retarded statements based on racial stereotypes and get applauded. Nice try, but, impressed? Not one bit.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well now that means you probably have something in common with da-ballerz that get paid so much to entertain us sportsfans. And I am not necessarily implying wealth of property either...
