of course, i had to put him to the question..his response was " i had it cause sometimes at work, i like to jack-off and wanted a sanitary jack"

Actually, the chances of a woman becoming pregnant while on birth control pills if she uses them correctly is practically zero. Sure, it could happen, but I'd probably have a better chance of getting killed in a car accident on the freeway on any given day of the week.

The real problem isn't with "the pill" itself. If used perfectly, it's practically impossible for a woman to become pregnant. Of course, most people don't seem to use birth control (hormonal or barrier) anywhere near "perfectly" so that's where the accidental pregnancies come into play.

Depending on the birth control pill itself, a woman may have anything from a three-to-twelve hour window in which she may take her contraception and not be considered "late" or having "missed" it entirely. Even if a woman does forget her pill one day, she can take it immediately and then resume her pills as normal, provided she doesn't continue to forget to take them on a regular basis. It's highly recommended, however, that any woman on birth control pills attempts to take them around the same time every day (if for no other reason, doing so will probably make it easier to remember to take the pill).

There's only three instances in which I could see a couple using condoms if the woman was using birth control pills: To prevent sexually transmitted diseases; she had been extremely sick (excessive vomiting or diarrhea can reduce the effectiveness of the pill), and certain medications, especially some antibiotics and anti-epileptics, can negate the pill entirely. Barring those situations, I fail to see any reason why a couple would need to use condoms if the woman is taking her birth control pills correctly.

PS -- There is one other possible reason for using condoms while the woman is on the pill too and it would be the man asking to use them, oddly enough. Some men don't like the idea of the woman having complete control over pregnancy and feel that she could decide to stop taking her birth control whenever she wanted, without telling him, and pretend it was an "accident" instead. Obviously, that would be deceptive on the woman's part and in most cases, thinking this way is probably paranoid on the man's part; however, there have been enough instances of this happening in the past to make some men concerned.

I'm not confused, it's pretty obvious, it doesn't need to be specified and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

On the other hand, a good friend of mine's husband cheated on her. They separated for a while and he realized just how much his wife and their marriage really meant to him. When she agreed to forgive him the two of them worked very hard to put their life back together. Their marriage is one of the strongest ones I know. He adores her and would never, ever do anything again to jeopardize their marriage or to risk losing her.

I think it depends on the circumstances and the individuals involved.

Thought I'd repeat this since the majority of people are ready it seems to run out the door before even finiding out what was obviously wrong with the marriage that would cause a spouse to cheat.

Would I immediately call of our marriage? I'm not sure. It might depend on the circumstances involved and who she cheated with too. For instance, if my wife slept with someone else because I was ignoring her, then I couldn't very well place all of the blame on her shoulders. Cheating would still be wrong, of course, but if someone in a relationship is continually neglected and all attempts to fix the problem are turned away, the chances of either the complete dissolution of the marriage or infidelity (or perhaps both) becomes incredibly great.

Who the husband or wife sleeps with outside the marriage might also have an effect on the cheated spouse. If a man or woman goes to bed with a virtually unknown person, with no connection to their significant other, the overall trauma inflicted by the act would be far less than if he or she cheated with their spouse's sibling, parent, or best friend. It would still hurt a great deal, but most people generally don't place the same level of trust in strangers as they would with family or friends. That sort of betrayal would be twice as painful.

I also think it would depend how the cheating was revealed. For instance, isn't it a completely different scenario if the cheating spouse tells the spouse about the cheating and that they are just sick over it, truly sorry, want to work things through, etc, than if the cheated on spouse has to confront the cheater after finding out about it and deal with a possible defensive response from said cheater.

I can't honestly say I'd know exactly how I'd react, but I don't think it would be with revenge in mind, like the ex-wife of Steve from the pictures. I would be tremendoulsy hurt but I'd want to know what happened, what was not working in the marriage that led my spouse to cheat. It doesn't happen in a vacuum.

I would never want to "catch" Lindsay cheating. Outside of the horror of being cheated on, I really wouldn't need a possible assault and battery charge on my record. Finding out would be different. If I was seeing it happen, I would probably snap.
