I was just wondering if anyone could give an account on how their interview went at the US Embassy in London, just so us guys who have it coming up soon, could give us an idea of how everything goes, would be great if we could hear any. :)

our visa interview experience

we arrived nearly 5 hours too early (contingency contingency contingency lol)

spoke to a nice policeman well 5 of them at different times nice policemen with guns i might add

eventually we got online just before 10 am for our 10.30 appointment

we lined up against the barriers there was another line next to ours (the 10am ers)

they all went through then we were all moved over to where they were lined up

then our line starts to move the security guard he was the icing on the cake a big burly biker type guy in a uniform with a wacky sence of humour he really did help us feel a bit more at ease

so we show our passports and appointment letters(without them its no entry)

then we start making our way towards a portacabin,in there is the usual security measures you would expect at the airport

after you go through you then have to walk down to where you were lined up (but this time inside the fence)

down to the end then you walk the whole length of the building then back up half way on the otherside

enter in throught the doors at the top of the stairs up to a guy sat behind a desk, reshow your appointment letter he ticks your name off then directs you up the stairs to his right(your left)

once inside the door you will meat a lady who will ask you what visa you are applying for(you all should know this)i said erm erm shrugged my shoulders and she said ah immigrant lol

she pushes the button on the coresponding ticket machine and gives you a ticket

now this is the good or bad bit immigrants and dhs are the shorter lines(or were on our day)there were 5 in front of me

you sit and there are 4 screens with ticket numbers and window numbers and in turn each are called out

we were called up to window 14 about 45 mins after getting there nice man behind the glass

gave him our ticket then he goes off to get your packets and in turn asks for docs and copies did this twice for my son and me

they only asked for 1 photo which i thought was strange as they said you needed 2 each

he then gave me a courier sms form told us both to go back to where we were sitting to fill out name and address etc

about 20 mins later get called to window 15 by an american accented woman over the loud speaker (americans working in the embassy surely not lol)

her first words to me were "i hope you are having a nice day im just signing my life away"she was signing

our forms (obviously at this point i muttered so we are approved)she said we were she handed us back our original docs

then index finger scans were taken

she then directed us to the courier corner

now please please please do not try to go through the door marked no entry (which is where i thought she said to go lol)

the courier corner as i will call it from now on is right next to where you were given your ticket when you came in

pay the courier, get your receipt and gtfoot for lots of ciggies if you a smoker

good luck one and all
