Hello everybody. My problem is that I'm here with my wife in Ecuador while we get the papers, and I don't want to go back until she gets her visa, since we're newlyweds. The thing is, I don't have a job currently in the US but the company i left said I can go back to work there whenever I want. Should I get a letter from my old boss stating that, or just have my dad sign on as a co-sponsor? Also, should this job letter be notarized? Thanks a lot.

Dan,

You can try. But have a sponsorship package from your Dad available because you just might need it.

I changed jobs recently myself. If your old boss is agreable - a signed, company letterhead to you, stating your old job (length, pay) and willingness to rehire you (pay). If by chance you left only to meet/marry your new wife and your boss was aware of that, it wouldn't hurt to include that. It almost comes across as unpaid leave (without benefits of course). Your dad's co-sign may be needed if a reviewer deems the letter insufficient. If you are lucky enough to have sufficient savings in the interim, that is also good and needs documentation. Good luck.

Dan,

Did you file your I-130 with the consulate in Ecuador?

Why does your personal information say that your wife is going for a K3 visa, and why are you posting in the K3 forum?

Hi Dan - You are the first person who has posted that is also married to an Ecuadorian. My husband and I did DCF through Quito. We are gathering the documents to call and schedule the interview but will have to wait until I start earning a better salary - hopefully by August. In any case would you mind emailing me and telling me your experiences?? Are you going through Quito or Guayaquil? Did you get married in Ecuador or the states???

Please let me know because we have been having some difficulties with both embassies.

My email adress is jessipotomus@yahoo.com and my name is (obviously) Jessica

Thanks so much!!

and I would try to get your dad to co sponser if possible (although mine wont) do you have savings or anythign you could show them?
