Hello :star:

I have a question about POE. As far as I understand, a POE is where the fiancé is going to first arrive in the USA and go through all the immigration questions about the K1 visa and receive the EAD. Am I right?

I just got approved and hopefully will soon get an interview at the US Embassy in Paris. I'd like to buy now my plane tickets to the USA. I would like to leave from Paris and arrive at Anchorage in Alaska. Going to Alaska from France is really really long (it usually takes about 25hours), unless I use Condor Airlines - the plane takes off at Frankfurt, Germany, goes all over the north pole and land at Anchorage. So my itinerary would be Paris-Frankfurt, then Frankfurt-Anchorage, and it would take maximum 12 hours to do so. The lenght of the trip doesn't really matter to me. But, the reason why I'd like to take this plane is that I am going to travel with my two kitties, and I really don't want them to suffer from the trip :unsure:

Anyway, I was wondering if Anchorage can be my POE for K1 visa?? I don't know if with the K1 visa, we are only supposed to use certain POE or not...

K1 journey:

I129F sent mid-october 2007

I129F received by CSV: 10/19/07

NOA1 received early March and NOA2 received on March 19th!! We got APPROVED!!

File received by NVC and sent to US Embassy in Paris: 03/10/2008

05/06/2008: I sent the packet 3 to the embassy.

05/22/2008: Packet 4 received!

06/10/2008: Medical examination in Paris.

06/17/2008: INTERVIEW: Visa approved!!

08/31/2008: WEDDING

AOS journey:

09/05/2008: AOS/EAD/AP sent to Chicago

09/11/2008: Notice date for I-485, I-131 and I-765

10/16/2008: SSA finally gave me a SSN!!

11/17/2008: AP received and EAD approved!

11/20/2008: Biometrics appointment AND Green card interview in Fairbanks.

12/29/2008: I went to my local office to regive my biometrics. And my EAD card has finally been issued!!

01/12/2009: EAD received!! Finally

02/09/2009: GC received in the mail :) Anniversary is 01/29/11

Removal of conditions:

11/09/10: Divorced

11/18/10: Sent I-751 to CSV

11/30/10: Receipt notice received in the mail

12/30/10: Called USCIS as no news for 1 month after NOA1

1/10/11: Emailed from USCIS about my call: "The process for fingerprint appointment scheduling has been requested."

1/13/11: NOA2 ASC appointment notice

2/3/11: Biometrics at local office (NOA2 recieved on 2/2/11!!!)

2/16/11: Date of decision: APPROVED

2/24/11: Card in hand

I dont know about europe, but in canada the US customs are at the canadian airports..

Thanks for the advice! Don't worry, I have tought about this before and I know what I am doing... Well, if everything is going ok with interview of course. I just got approved by USCIS, and NVC has already sent our case to the Embassy in Paris. I am currently in the US with my fiance and won't return to France before beginning of May. So I won't be able to send packet 3 to Emabssy before May, so I don't think I will get the interview before end of May or beginning of June. I just have to make sure the appointment will occur before june, 27th, when my NOA2 expires... The cool think though being in the USA now is that my fiance can now prepare all I-134 docs and others I will need for the interview date... As far as entering the US with my visa, I am not planning to do it before beginning of september. The reason is that my fiance will be unfortunately working all summer in the field and he won't have any time off with me, so we thought it was a better idea for me to postpone my arrival by a couple months...

So yeah, hopefully by this time, I will have my visa in hand!!
