I would ask this in the moving to america. They get these types of questions a lot and someone somewhere has a link to various airports and their requirements according to what nationality you are.

My husband came here on EgyptAir (Cairo to NY, NY to Detroit) and did just fine. Personally I think you would be better off coming here direct instead of having a layover in Europe somewhere. Don't worry you will find lots of helpful ppl at JFK to help get to your connecting flight to Atlanta.

she's wrong. it's a oneway that is needed. call back and talk to someone else and see if you get a different answer. the k-1 is the only one i've heard problems about in needing a roundtrip by some airlines, not the k-3. don't spend all that money when you don't have to!!! I'm buying a one way not a round trip and they can stand there and argue with my husband for hours about it if they'd like.

JFK is ok there are some good reviews here about it: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php If we use Egypt Air we'll have to deal with JFK but it looks like if you have at least a 3 1/2 to 4 hour layover you should be ok. I wouldn't do anything less than that.

just curious why not a layover? I only ask 'cause there's a flight via luftansa that we've been eyeing and it's so convenient 'cause it's direct to boston.

Don't worry...

we the people of New York are friendly!

JFK may be a confusing airport, but we're nice! :innocent:

That is exactly what we plan on doing.

My husband never flew in his entire life before he came through JFK to Los Angeles and he had no problems changing terminals and all that. Its really not that big of a deal! :) Personally I'd fly direct to Europe from LA next time then down to Morocco instead of stopping in NYC. But its not because JFK is a bad airport, but because Royal Air Maroc sucks! :) But if lived in NYC I would take RAM anyway because of the direct flight convenience! But this post is about Egypt anyway so who cares! lol
