Happy Good Friday and Easter to everyone!

I think the reason some don't have it off is because some consider it a religious holiday. My parents and I both work for the government and we aren't off. I think it has something to do with that whole state/religion thing.

I do however have off Monday and Tuesday of next week. So I'm not sure if that whole explanation I just gave really applies to me or not.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Very interesting that the US does not have Good Friday and or Easter Monday off.

I wonder, are people allowed to take the day off without being fired as it falls under religious freedom?

PS Happy Easter.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, but as it's been discussed here before, Christmas isn't necessarily a religious holiday.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Happy Easter everyone.

In the Philippines, holy week is a very big thing. It's like a second Christmas but in a lot more somber tone. In my native language we call Easter "Pasko sa Pagkabanhaw" which literally means "Resurrection Christmas". I do miss not being off during the holy week. It takes a lot of effort to focus on the meaning of this "season" when one has to deal with stress at work.
