didn't i hear that teflon has been banned or something

Apparently you are not supposed to use nonstick pans on a high heat.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

Pedroh being from the South we have to keep the cast iron pots and pans seasoned. If you have badly rusted it can be revived in most cases doing the following process. You may not want to work that hard at it but here is a link from Wikipedia that explains what is done for seasoning. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasoning%5F%28cast%5Firon%29

I use Calphalon :thumbs: they are great...and I am REALLY tough on pans :blush:

Up in Seattle, we had "Cooks Essentials" and they were great too!

Personally, I won't use Teflon ( even if it's safe). It flakes....and 3 guesses where the flakes go :unsure:

We lashed out and bought one of those very heavy-duty teflon pans with the red heat spot in the center. I never wait for it to tell me it's heated up, I just use it from cold... but the pan is great. We went through two el-cheapo coated pans in eight months and hopefully this one will last a lot longer.

I hate teflon. I've bought 3 sets of pans since I've met my husband here and they all flaked and were too destroyed to use in just a few months. And I Never use metal in them at all, only plastic flippers and stuff.

I'm trying to convince James that we need some Calphalon, but he keeps looking at the dang price tag :P

if you want a really good really cheap cast iron pan go to your local hardware store. (We go to Ace hardware) That's where I bought the ones I had (my ex took them) and they lasted forever. Of course, I also oiled them after each use and took care of them pretty well.

August 26th -- interview date - we need to complete a I-601 waiver so it's back to waiting again

January 6, 2005 i-601 waiver approved!!!!

January 21, 2005 VISA IN HAND

February 12, 2005 WEDDING!!!!!

March 10, 2005 mailed AOS and EAD applications to Chicago

April 18, 2005 EAD and AOS receipt dates for NOA

June 30, 2005 AOS RFE evidence submitted (translated birth certificate)

August 10, 2005 ---EAD approved via infopass appointment

October 18, 2005 - AOS interview in St. Louis - received an RFE for vaccination supplement

February 9, 2006 - denial for AOS letter due to the wrong form being submitted from the doctor. PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO YOU!!

February 16, 2006 - USCIS accepts the motion to reopen without an additional fee - finally something goes right! We should hear from USCIS St. Louis office within 2 weeks.

April 3, 2006 - Received welcome to America letter in the mail!

April 8, 2006 - Received GC in the mail - done for 2 years!!!!

March 1, 2008 - mailed off I-751

March 3, 2008 NSC delivery confirmation

March 10, 2008 NOA 1

March 28, 2008 Biometrics appointment

Legal Permanent Resident - just waiting for time to pass for him to have eligibility for citizenship.
