Hello VJ family, I am the filipina here and we started our K1 journey last Feb, 08.

My questions are : * Whats the chance of approval through co-sponsorship?

* Do i need to talk to the co-sponsor as well? I mean chat and get some infos as well?

I'm somewhat afraid because he is just poverty line coz he has kids and that he is supporting them...

His co-sponsor is his mom and she has a bigger income. I came to talk to his mom once on the phone.

I got infos of her from him also. If anyone here experienced co-sponsorship, may i ask what are the possible questions being

asked by the consul?

Thanks a lot for the help! :star:

As far as I understand, the co-sponsorship is pretty straightforward. I wouldn't worry so much! I think a lot of people here have had to have one, myself included (my mom is doing ours too).

You'll still be approved at the same success rate as if you didn't have a co-sponsor. They don't turn you away for having one at all. As long as your fiance and your mother's incomes are enough combined to meet the requirements (formula in the instructions) then you're fine

There isn't any reason you have to get to know the co-sponsor or find out anything from her, but hey she's going to be your mother-in-law so you might as well, right? :P Your fiance will need to send you his Affidavit of Support, his mother's Affidavit, and paystubs, assets proof, letter from employer, etc. from the both of them. He sends you all this once you've gotten your NOA2.

This is all just the paperwork phase, I think. I don't think they're going to go into too much detail in the interview about your fiance's mother. I mean they're not going to turn you away for not having like...her birthday memorized or a really close relationship with her, or anything like that, you know?

Just follow all the instructions for the Affidavits and you'll be absolutely fine. Like I said, tons of us have had to get co-sponsors. :)

Hello there....I am a filipina as well, based on my experienced the consul just asked me about what is the relationship between my petitioner and my co-sponsor, so simple as long as you have the proper documents and the knowledge about the co-sponsor there will be no problem.Good luck on your paper works.More to come!
