Passport application

My fiance applied for her passport about 2 weeks ago. They told her it wouldn't release until April 14. The DFA website says it only takes 14 days regular, or 7 days to expedite it. Why the difference? She filed in CDO, if that makes a difference. I'd like to hear from some of the ladies here on how long it took to get their passport.

got mine after one month the reason is the new passport is now machine readable so, according to them (DFA) it will surely take a couple of weeks. . . i apply here in cebu i dont know in manila if it is fast as you expect. because if we are applying outside manila all the papers and documents will be forwarded to manila all the process will be there and the making of the passport, so maybe if u apply in manila it is more faster than outside manila... that is just my opinion and knowledge about the new passport procedure... just wait for the others reply! GOD BLESS AND GOODLUCK!

I applied last March 13 and will pick it up on April 4..I think the reason why it took so long is that it's because of the holy week. It should only be 2 weeks for the regular processing and 7 days for expedite processing.

With the new procedure (machine readable thingy), it seems like it takes longer to get a passport. When I applied for one back in July 2006, I used an agency (since I work 7 days a week and couldn't get away to do it in person) and it took 1 week upon personal apperance and documents verification for it to be released.
