Hey everyone,

I would assume that my petition is at the NVC or is being sent there and the interview will be coming up shortly. Me and my sweetie would love to come to America together and financially we can do it. I wouldn't mind being present during the interview and after asking the Embassy in Hungary they said I may attend however there might be chances I would be interviewed.

So my question is, being present a good idea? What do you all know about being present during the interview?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Some Embassies prohibit the USC from attending. I consider they have the belief that you could "coach" her and they don't want that.

Depends on the embassy, but the embassy in Trinidad told me it does help when the USC is present.

Regardless, I don't think the interview will be too bad...

I just attended the interview with my fiancée in the Philippines on March 3rd.

First, she told me she felt so much better that I was there with her (so that was good) plus I was able to fly back to the US with her (another plus). In addition, I think it was good for her family that I was there so they are not so concerned about her wellbeing.

Regarding the interview specifically - I had been married and applied for AOS before, and the interviewer asked me specifically about that - my fiancée and I believe it was very important I was there for that. Not to mention that it is further proof of a real and verifiable relationship that I made the trip.

I would say - if possible definitely be there - more for your wife than the interview itself. And best of luck to you!!

You hit it right on the dot. The main reason I would want to be there is to answer any specific questions that my Fiancee may not know and to be there to give comfort and have a great experience traveling back together. I am mainly concerned that it would cause some sort of issue that I may not be aware of.
