What is up with VERMONT??????????

I am wondering about their computer system. There was once a time when people called in using the RFE trick and their cases would be "touched" because their case was looked at by the person answering the phone. I called to check the status of my case because i worried about the computer system , i mean it did take them 1 month to put the information in the system in the first place, anyway..... when I checked via the phone it said that i needed to send in more information. So I called the RFE line and spoke with someone to see if in fact I did have an RFE. But no touch, the last update is still 2/24/2008. From what i can gather from this forum is that no one has had an touches from that 2/24 group even though most people have used the RFE trick to talk to someone. One person was even approved with no touches from their case status online. Heck someone got their NOA2 and their case status online said they were still pending.
Now on the other hand, it is very concerning that people from Jan and Feb are getting approved before other filers are even looked at by uscis, it causes me to worry about where all of the files from the large number of people who did get online the same day might be. Granted, it would be silly to think that family members of USCIS employees or friends or even the USCIS employees themselves would not approve themselves way ahead of time. I mean this is america, and i do believe we started the saying "it isnt what you know but who you know". In those cases it is understandable and i could rest easier knowing that was what is happening. But if the policy is first in first out then if not for the "hook up" how are those who filed so much later than Aug-Dec being approved. When I first saw that case this morning i will admit , it made me angry to know that USCIS is not being true to their word about first in first out. I felt bad about being angry because I am happy that that Feb filer will be with their family soon, but at the same time im very jealous, I am sure we all are.

One thing is for sure, trying to make sense out of a system that is in such chaos that the head people are quiting , would make no sense at all. For those of you who have a "higher power" the best thing that i can think of is to keep your faith, keep your chin up, and think what does not kill you can only make you stronger. We will all be with our loved ones one day. I hope that at some point we can all look back on these days and think, WOW, if we made it through those days we can make it through anything.

yes u r so right..i know one day we wil see that approval but i want it to be a smooth aproval and not a crazy one...

I understand completely. I am in the same boat. My problem is that a few people keep starting threads complaining that VSC has not been issuing approvals at all and that is clearly not the case.

If you do not like us complaining.....and venting to each others, then you should move on to a different topic to participate in. You can not tell people what and what not to say and when. Am sure when you have a complaint whether it is valid or not, you do want people here to listen to you and hear you!!

VSC is approving petitions, they're just willy nilly, which is frustrating to all of us.

2 November filers, a January and a February filer is what I've found ..... and certainly not logical :wacko:

VSC is obviously at this point not working on 'first come first approved' .... but sooner or later, they will get to us.

Please try to be patient, I know it's hard ..... and don't think I'm not frustrated too, I am and 'this' close to befriending a few dirty journalists, but, I'm also thinking of the long run .....

Personally, I think we're all a little chewed up that K1 fiances are being treated as more of a priority .... that work permit people get to bring their families within a matter of a few weeks ..... and that the CSC 'appears' to be pumping out more approvals.

But our time will come, and it will be when it is 'right' .... and I really don't think it will be long :clock:

I also think Delicia's spreadsheet is brilliant, please don't 'knock' her, poor girl's had a terrible time trying to be with her spouse .... try doing this ####### with 2 governments !? ..... and having her paperwork returned due to some pedantic USCIS idiot ...... my hat goes off to you Delicia, you are very patient (F)

That post really brought it home for me ..... today I feel lucky to not be in the same situation .... and I hope that little family find the strength to file a lawsuit.

So, c'mon, sure we're separated from our favourite person, but things could be soooo much worse.

In the meantime, there's a ton of stuff you can do in preparation for your spouse arriving ..... whether it be practising new recipes, checking out cool places to take them, or even looking at a 2nd honeymoon.

What with this whole new saying latly when you call in; we ask you to give atleast 6 months from your first receipt notice, waiting on until your approval???????????

I thought it was 30 days after or 60 something like that.........

We all have seen some of july and aug filers left behind for some reason while we saw approvals coming .. now we see a trickle of approvals from VSC while CSC is already approving Oct and beyond.. we each have quietly wondered as we continue to see those few July/Aug filers still not approved.. why? what happened with them? Now.. when we see a few cases approved that filed after us.. we are hoping that we wont end up being part of those few left behind. I feel for them..while I want my case approved. When someone is clearly venting, they just need to know that they've been heard. We are all in the same process.. so let's be easy..as this is the only place we can get a glimpse of what is going on .. good and bad and im thankful for it. Comeon APPROVALS :luv:

My husband called them yesterday to inquire about I-129F and she was surprised to hear that our application was sent there since we are from Texas.Then she said that they could work on it because they are not that busy.Then where are those approvals if they are not that busy???I don't understand.

The idea of fairness matters and since VSC is clearly not processing based on a FIFO order, it does get on my nerves quite a bit. I should imagine that when things went through the lock box they were lumped together in any old order and that's how they made it to VSC. So rather than something logical (and fair) they're playing 52 pickup with our applications.

But I too tend to believe that the online system for VSC will not be updated again until approval. So the next touch for most of us who were added to the system in February will likely be after we have a NOA2.

I share the frustation of everyone here.

I tried to stretch my imagination to see why for some I-130's are approved in 1-2 months, while for some it takes 6 months or more. I came up with a theory that perhaps there are only about 20 - 30 people in the system with pending I-130/I-129f applications. These are people like us. Our applications might be pending for reasons like - name check, new hires who are learning the process, an officer who has gone on vacation, somebody who works only on weekends etc. etc. These are non-RFE type delays.

While our application is somehow stuck in the queue for above reasons, in comes a perfectly well prepared application with all pages, evidence etc intact, and no issues with the immigration officer either. Since the I-130 queue is literally empty at this time, the only good application that comes in the queue goes through quickly. In reality 1-2 months must be all that is required to approve I-130/I-129f. All others are stuck for some silly reason.

Hope I am wrong, but perhaps I am going insane trying to figure out what might be going on or how USCIS works!
