Ok so we got the email confirming the NOA2

What happens then? Do we need to contact anyone or do anything or do we just wait for the NVC to send it to England and then the packet 3 from the London Embassy??

My finace in America should keep an eye out for the NOA2 in the mail? Does he need to do anything else?

its been 12 days since we got the email NOA2, what sort of time frame are we working on here for going to the NVC and on the London?

Thanks guys!

Once you get the hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail, there is a case number and phone number on there for the NVC which you can call and find out the status of your case. If you get the right person, and you're very polite, they will usually give you some info as to whether the case has arrived, is still processing, or has left the NVC for the embassy.

Normally, at this stage, you just make sure you gather the necessary documents for the interview (police reports, financial documents, etc), while you're waiting on the packet to arrive at the embassy. Good luck!

It's hard to say. I got my NOA2 on 4/18, and called the NVC last Friday to see if we had a case number yet. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that our case had been sent to London on 4/26. I got the letter from them this weekend.

You can give them a call at 603-334-0700 to see what the status is. Have the EAC numner from your NOAs on hand, and be prepared to stay on hold for a while.

[sorry! Edited to correct the phone number]

I think you must be smoking something today!!:lol:

The NOA2 doesn't have a case number on it, it simply repeats the USCIS receipt number. The 'Case Number' is assigned by the NVC after they receive the approved petition from the service center.

Regarding the letter from NVC, as far as I am aware they always send a letter to the sponsor indicating that the petition has been forwarded to the consulate, and they include the Case Number on this letter.

If you elect to call the NVC, even when you know your case number, you must speak to a live person to get status information. The NVC does not put K-1 cases onto their voice response system.

Best of luck,

G
