crossed the border for first time with GC

yup we just got back from a 4 day trip to canada to see my kids using my GC for the first time

the trip was a piece of cake crossing the border the guard askd how long we stay whats the purpose congratulated for the success on the GC ,

and wished us a save trip ( very friendly dude )

arriving in canada well wow what a colture shock ,

OMG the snow is tremendouse never have I seen a mess like that since the 20 years I lived there

( other then the ice storm years ago )

anyhow we had a great time and coming back home was the same thing a very friendly border guard ,

they didnt mention anything about the differant names passport and GC .

( but I had the marriage cert with me just in case they wanted to see it , wich they never did )

what supriced me that they left the I 94 in my passport even though its exipiered ,

but oh well I guess I have a nice lil souvenier so all in all very easy and friendly experience

Very nice Lona, glad you had a nice trip. I hear the snow where I was in Ontario is really bad this year, in fact I have seen the pictures from my family and sure am glad to be in Virginia

yes this winter has been brutal....Ive been in Brampton (near Toronto) for 6 years and its been the snowiest Ive ever seen...reminds my husband of winters when he was a kid...so glad I grew up in the desert (Las Vegas)!!..LOL

Tony and I are going to visit my family in germany in may ( as you all know am german citizen , canadian LPR ) I havent seen my siblings ( got 7 of them ) since 12 years ,

so yeah we are extreamly happy and anxiouse to see them and for tony to meet them

we will stand up for my younger bros wedding ( that was his wish for us to come when he gets married )and make it our honeymoon trip at the same time ,

its going to be so great cant hardly waite

Once that Berlin Wall comes down, I'm going!! Actually spent a night in Lahr Germany coming back from croatia! Was a beautiful area, and the taxi cabs were Mercedes, sweet

You know...Stuttgart, Germany is the place to visit if you like Benz. As for me personally....I'd like to someday own a BMW. I do think they're both very well made cars, IMHO.

Speaking of flights....just checked Hotwire. They are the cheapest so far (that I have found) for flying home this summer. For the three of us (I don't guess they discount for children) to fly roundtrip from ATL to YHZ (Halifax) will cost just under $1500. I don't suppose that's too bad.

If you waited for the wall to come down , you could have gone a long time ago , the berlin wall came down I belive it was the same year we left germany 1990 , ( it became open for public to cross over from east to west end of 1989 )

( thats the city I was born at and yes i missed the german mountains when I lived in montreal , but living here in mass reminds me so much of the german mountains I am at home away from home ,lol )
